Buck, the main character in the film, has an amazing spiritual side.
In the face of the bullies on board, although she gave in outwardly, inside she never compromised and was always ready to run away. When the second owner, the postwoman, had the misfortune to fall into the icy ice, he first put his life at risk and rushed into the water to help him up.
In her interactions with the sled dogs, Bark wins the respect of the other dogs with her rare love and compassion, demonstrating her unique charm.
At this time, Bark was like a hero in both thought and behavior, with rational judgment and unyielding courage.
We thought that after all the preparation, the film would reach a real climax in the second half, but unfortunately, the film didn't follow its current path and all the enthusiasm was lost.
In the later part of the film, both the narration and the dramatic conflict are like a cup of water. The light, witty, and exciting scenes that preceded the film were replaced by infinitely slow narrative pace and boring value output when the story's human protagonists appeared.
According to the normal thinking, the first half of the film mainly tells the process of Buck's growth and adaptation to the human society, while the second half should focus on how Buck leaves the human society and finds his true self.
Only with enough plot foreshadowing and propaganda, the process of heart road change can be convincing enough. However, as far as the second half goes, the film is far from a success.
In the second half of the story, except for a bit of fun through the landscape paintings and the drifting journey, the film is like a pool of stagnant water.
The call of the wild calls for truth, reminding everyone that when hard work is not rewarded, at least we can be our original, purest selves.
