Click: If life can be controled

A relaxing holiday is suitable for watching movies, and comedy is naturally a good choice. I watched an old movie with a good reputation, "Click" starring Adam Sandler. In addition to being amused by Adam's consistent performance style, which is cute but not limitless, the film has more moving and thought-provoking places.

Newman is an architect with a thriving career and a happy family. He has a beautiful and considerate wife, a pair of lively and lovely children, and a big dog who has been with him for many years. Like many mature men who are ambitious in their careers, they always yearn for a little more quiet time for work in the chaotic life. One day he got his wish and got a mysterious universal remote control, which can fast forward and jump to his own life, and can go back to the past browsing history. The only thing he can't do is to go back to the past, and the jump and fast forward will be irrecoverable. With the "Hand of God", Newman is ecstatic. He can fast-forward trivial family time, fast-forward painful colds, fast-forward time with his wife's warm caress, fast-forward disputes with his wife, and even fast-forward to himself The day of promotion-10 years later... Soon, he found that his life was out of control. The automatic memory function of the remote control recorded his habitual operations, and he automatically jumped and fast-forwarded except for the work part. He was like a robot. Responding to his fast-forward part in an automatic state, leaving no traces in his own memory. As a result, he perfectly missed the growth process of his children, and missed the communication with his wife and parents. He was at a loss to see that he had become a super fat man who had eaten too much fast food because of overtime work, and his son had become a lazy fat man like him, his daughter had become a rebellious girl he could not accept, and his wife had inherited the family. Depression caused by imbalance... completely out of control, there is no regret medicine. He regrets what he regrets, but is unable to recover. Like a bystander, he saw that he had cancer and was cured, but he watched his marriage come to an end. Working so ecstatically that I didn’t even see my father for the last time. When he was still alive, he chased his children in the wind and heavy rain, and made the children take the family first...

The film is a comedy, but the latter part is becoming more and more distressing. It's like a wife who is extremely frustrated and even desperate to say, "You just choose a job at home and work again and again." The once happy family was destroyed in this way, and the once warm life became icy. Even though you have reached the pinnacle of your career and possessed immense wealth and prestige, no one will share it, and the most important people will be abandoned one by one. In the end, being alone in a family also brings endless suffering to those who love them most, and even affects the character and outlook of life of their children.

More or less we can see our own projection from Newman. As young, we cherish the time of our career and struggle. We work madly for our ideals and put our family aside for the time being in order to achieve success. Have you ever tried to abandon the holidays and family reunion and focus on work and unfinished classes? Have you ever tried to hung up in a call with your family members in a hurry for meeting and being busy? Have you pushed back the promised family activities time and time again and used promotion and salary increase to make your family's life better as a reason to be justified? Life is short. If you miss something, you miss it, and some regrets are irreparable. Newman used his story to enlighten us. If life can be remote controlled, how would I choose? Cherish family, cherish life, don't miss the ups and downs of life, don't miss those fragments that you think are trivial and meaningless, don't refuse to communicate with a perfunctory attitude, and widen the distance between heart and heart. There should be a balance between family and work. When there is a conflict between the two, family is given priority.
