Halloween Kills director David Gordon Green is in talks to direct a new version of The Exorcist. The film is from Blumhouse and Morgan Creek, for whom David Gordon Green previously directed the Halloween reboot.
Released in 1973, "The Exorcist," about a 12-year-old girl possessed by a demon, became a hit and held The record for r-rated horror films with $232 million in North America and $441 million worldwide until 2017's "The Exorcist I." It was also nominated for 10 Academy Awards, winning best Sound Mixing and Best Adapted screenplay.
The Exorcist is also one of The biggest names in horror movies, with The release of "The Exorcist Prequel" in 2004 and a TV series of The same name in 2016.
"It's a myth that I'm in a new version of 'The Exorcist,' it's not a myth, it's a lie," friedkin said. There's not enough money or motivation in the world for me to do that."
