As a classic novel, British author D. H. Lawrence's Mrs. Chatterley's Lover has been featured on the screen many times. Recently, it has been reported that Sony and Netflix are teaming up to create a new movie version of Mrs. Chatterley's Lover. In the plans of the producers, this new version of the film will star Emma Colin and Jack O'Connell.
This will be the first cooperation between Netflix and Sony’s 3000 Pictures. The first edition of Mrs. Chatterley's Lover was published in 1928, and the story took place after the end of the First World War. Cliff returned to the manor, paralyzed due to combat injuries, leaving his wife Connie out of the cold. In the forest, she met Meles, the forest keeper hired by the manor, and re-experienced the taste of love. Finally, the couple in love decided to divorce their spouses and start a new life together.
Madame Chatterley's Lover has been adapted into a movie many times, and throughout Europe and Hollywood, it is regarded as an excellent source of adaptations. According to the plan, the new version of Madame Chatterley's Lover will be directed by French female director Laurie de Claremont-Tonnell. This rookie director once filmed the stunning Wild Horse in 2019 and won the Independent Filmmaker Award at the 29th Gotham Independent Film Awards.
