Netflix is preparing a live-action series of Pokémon and has invited Joe Henderson, the executive producer of The Detective, as the screenwriter and executive producer.

In 2019, the movie Detective Pikachu starring Ryan Reynolds earned a global box office of 433 million US dollars, which also allowed Netflix to see business opportunities and prepare to make Pokemon also appear on the small screen. At present, the series is still in the early stages of preparation, so the plot and the list of actors have not yet been made public. However, it is worth mentioning that the final season of The Detective will be aired in September, and Joe Henderson can also focus on the creation of the Pokemon script.

Netflix recently loves the IP of Pokemon, whether it is theatrical version or an animated series, you can watch it on Netflix, such as Pokémon: The Evolution of Super Dream, Pokémon XY, etc. The latest episode of Pokémon Journey will also premiere on Netflix on September 10, 2021.

In addition to Pokemon, Netflix announced last year that it will partner with Ubisoft to create a live-action drama Assassin's Creed, and it is also preparing animations for classic works such as Far Cry and Spy Sea. Recently, it also cooperated with Capcom to launch the animated series Evil Spirit Castle: Endless Darkness, which can be described as frequent actions.
