Simu Liu - From being disliked by thousands of people to becoming a box office king

Simu Liu, who has been questioned since casting the lead role in The blockbuster "Still Air", happily tweeted, "I'm going to laugh at those who think we're going to fall on our faces." Since the beginning of the film, Simu Liu's career as an actor has officially taken off.

Simu Liu was born under the sign of Aries on April 19, 1989 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China.

Raised by his grandparents, Simu Liu immigrated to Mississauga, Ontario, when he was five years old. In 2011, Simu Liu, 22, graduated from West University with a degree in business administration. He started working as an accountant at Deloitte after just eight months, but was laid off. After trying several career paths, He finally decided he wanted to be an actor.

As an actor, Simu Liu first appeared in a group role in Director Gyroscope's Pacific Rim, saying he was fascinated by idris Elba, the main character in the MCU, from a distance.

Simu Liu's first American TV role was as a receptionist in Nikita, and his first feature film role was in the Canadian underdog Kung Fu Police (which I couldn't find an entry for on any Chinese movie website). In addition to acting in groups, Simu Liu has also worked as a stunt double, such as in the US TV series Heroes Born again.

In 2015, Simu Liu landed his first big acting role -- a character named Xie in the Canadian TV series Blood and Water. Since 2016, Simu Liu has been appearing in TV dramas in Both Canada and the United States, among which he played the leading role of "Son Ajun" in the Canadian TV series "Kim's Convenience Store" for a long time, and he began to gain a little fame. He also appeared in the taken series, as well as the Canadian series Orphan Black, Dripping Blood, And The Wall, as well as the Expanse and Fresh Off the Boat.

But aside from taken and The Expanse, Simu Liu's TV shows are relatively rare. When Kevin Feige announced at The 2019 San Diego Comic-Con that Simu Liu would be the lead actor in the first AsiAn-American superhero film, Shang Qi and the Ten Rings, 99.99999% of Chinese audiences didn't recognize him, and he wasn't exactly a "familiar face" to American audiences.

Back in 2014, Simu Liu tweeted at Marvel's official Account, "Captain America and Thor are doing great. When are we going to make a Chinese-American superhero?" In 2018, he spoke to Marvel again, saying, "Let's talk about Shang Qi." But when Simu Liu tweeted, he wasn't thinking about what would happen later. "Who would have thought they would win the lottery?"
