The First episode of Netflix's "The Three-Body Problem" is directed by Zeng Guoxiang

Hong Kong director Tsang Kwok-hsiang will direct the first episode of Netflix's "The Three-Body Problem," which is expected to balance the western elements of the series with the Chinese context, foreign media reported. He will also be the co-producer of the Three-Body Problem.

Zeng guoxiang's representative works are "Young You", "July and Life". In 2020, he won the best Director award at the 39th Hong Kong Film Awards for "You," starring Jackson Yi and Zhou Dongyu. In March 2021, "Teenage You" was nominated for best International Picture at the 93rd Academy Awards.

The series was created by "Game of Thrones" showrunner David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, along with "The Evil Spirits" season 2 showrunner Alexander Wu, with "The Three-Body Problem" author Cixin Liu and English translator Ken Liu as consultant producers.

Casting has yet to be announced, but it's been reported that Elsa Gonzalez (Baby Driver, Fast & Furious: Special Ops) is in talks to star.
