10. Brokeback Mountain (2005)

Brokeback Mountain

Director: Ang Lee

Writer: Annie Proulx

IDMb 7.7/10

This wonderful innovative short novel published in 1997 written by Anne Proulx. The movie was directed by Ang Lee, starring by Jack Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger. From the beginning, this was a very risky movie. This film reflects the dilemma several generations meet in the homeosexuality issue.

9. Breakfast at Tiffany's(1961)

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a short novel which is the most famous capote’s work. Audrey Hepburn was wearing a black dress showing her beautiful appearance, which deeply impressed by peoples, also this was one of the best loved Hepburn’s role. This is a wonderful short story written by a bad man, also it is a good movie performed by a perfect actress.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Director: David Fincher

Writer: Stieg Larsson

IMDb 7.8/10

Larsson is an incredible figure in the Swedish political. Through his research, Larson has saved many lives from terrorist activities in the country's brutal right-wing forces. But for me, the Hollywood version "The Girl with Dragon Tattoo " directed by David Finch, staring by Danniel Craig and Rooney Mara is better. The adaptation is very clever with strong screenwriter, director and clips also being good.

7. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

The Shawshank Redemption

Director: Frank Darabont

Writer: Stephen King

IMDb 9.3/10

"The Shawshank Redemption" is regarded as one of the greatest movies. This movie was adapted from Stephen Kim's novel "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" which also is a well-written literary work. No other prison escape movie can be compared with the true feeling of "The Shawshank Redemption". When the audience is guided by the Robbins’s role, they can seriously feel the loneliness and hope of Ronbins.

6. Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)

奇爱博士 Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)

IMDb 8.5/10

This movie was adapted from "Red Alert" written by Stanley Kubrick. The magic of this film is not acting, nor a script, but was the three characters become one, which relaxes the audience temporarily. Most people now have been unable to realize that how terrible the threat of nuclear war between the US and Soviet is.

5. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Director: David Fincher

Writer: F. Scott Fitzgerald

IMDb 7.8/10

Although the film was criticized for the length of this movie and boring plot, but I think it is one of the greatest movies in 21st Century. The original novel is far better than the movie and better show the thought of Fitzgerald. But the film also is excellent, especially with Brad Pitt's performance.

4. Gone with the Wind (1939)

Cloud Atlas

IMDb 7.5/10

David Mitchell's this novel had been seen as the movie which can’t be filmed. But I think the movies and books of Cloud Atlas are very good, especially the excellent cast, script and creative use of special effects in the movie. Whether for a novel or a film, the “Cloud Atlas” is an excellent work.

2. Lolita (1962)

Lolita

Director: Stanley Kubrick

Writer: Vladimir Nabokov

IMDb 7.6/10

This adaption from a funny and strange novel is a great success, but in order to ensure the release of this movie, there has to be something different with original novel. First of all, Lolita's age increased to fourteen. There are variety details revisions. Although the story is contrary to ethics, but both of book and the movie are not evade, keeping the comic effect, getting the revolutionary achievements.

1.The Pianist (2002)

The Pianist

Director: Roman Polanski

Writer: Wladyslaw Szpilman

IMDb 8.5/10

"The pianist" was adapted from Wladyslaw Szpilman's memoir "Death of a City”. It is not only the greatest war film, but also is the best Pulaski’s director work. The actor Adrien Brody holds up the whole film. When watching his struggle to survive, we seem to really have the same feeling hoping that he can survive.
