Truly Dreadful Film

Dynamixor

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

Morgan Freeman meets pretty girl. Morgan Freeman acts like douche in front of pretty girl. Morgan Freeman follows pretty girl around crappy neighbourhood, talking b*****ks.Pretty girl is rude to everyone at a department store. Pretty girl has bra shot, while getting changed. Pretty girl is chased by Morgan Freeman around town, listening to b*****ks.But hey, at least his b*****ks are understandable.Along the way, there are repetitive Mexican beats, lots of ugly extras and montages where literally nothing happens. You want a better review? Make a better movie. 2/10

For me, no one delivers a dialog better than the great Morgan Freeman, but my request to Morgan would be to please avoid such senseless and pathetic movies.Freeman, an aging actor practicing for a new role at a mall.Paz Vega, the ever so gorgeous, the counter clerk.what should i write about it, i felt so bad after watching this movie for both of them and for me for wasting my time on such a stupid movie. There is no story and nothing to write about. My advice, don't waste you time. Paz Vega for me is very very hot and i would like to see more of her in English movies.

Morgan Freeman plays a well-known actor, who hasn't accepted a role in four years, that is considering a film project. The cousin of the director drives him to Archie's Ranch Market, and drops him off to do a little research. He's fascinated by one of the checkers, Scarlet played by the gorgeous Paz Vega, a young woman from Spain with a preternatural ability to ring up items at the cash register at the 10 Items Or Less lane. The actor chats her up, and when her shift ends, he asks for a ride. Thus begins the movie,10 Items Or Less - a modern day Two For The Road minus the love story. In the course of the movie, he helps her prepare for a job interview. He teaches her to have self-confidence and in the process,he learns to commit from her. The themes of human connection and communication is explored in the story. The film is great as both Freeman and Vega were honest in their portrayal and have shown great chemistry together.Freeman is as usual always good while Vega needs to improve on her delivery of lines as she evokes less emotion due to her difficulty in speaking English.Overall, the communication and exchange of ideas between two characters - the actor and Scarlet - is practically the whole movie.Although many may find this film boring,I still would enjoy these types of films that provides people a view on how two people of different background can help instill change on one another. A 10 and not less should definitely be the rating of this film.

I believe a lot of people down rated the movie, NOT because of the lack of quality. But it did not follow the standard Hollywood formula. Some of the conflicts are not resolved. The ending is just a little too real for others, but the journey the rich characters and long list of supporters provide is both thought provoking and very entertaining. Even the cinematography is excellent given the urban setting, the directing also is excellent and innovative. This is a 10 in my book, this movie will take you places the normal and expected Hollywood script will not. They took some risks and did a few things different. I think it worked well, I am purposely trying to avoid any direct references to the movie because seeing it for yourself is the best answer, not accepting someone else's interpretation.
