In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Freddy comes back more intimidating than ever! This movie moves along pretty slowly but still has some major fan service. In fact, Freddy's body count reaches double digits in this film. However, the main school plot is terribly dull, Freddy's possession of main character, Jesse doesn't make sense, and Freddy gets killed off in a very underwhelming fashion. In addition, this movie has a whole lot of homoerotic subtext that is very blatant and sometimes even distracting. Overall, great for horror fans but not so great for everyone else.

Five years have passed since the events of the first film and the Walsh family have just moved into the house where the events of the first film were centred. Their teenage son Jesse starts having nightmares that feature the razor-fingered fiend Freddy Krueger. He isn't attacked in this dreams; instead Freddy is trying to possess him so that he can carry on his murderous spree in the real world. As he starts to behave strangely his parents wonder if he is on drugs or needs psychiatric help. Inevitable people start to die; starting with the gym teacher who had picked on Jesse and his friend Grady. There are other strange occurrences; the Walsh's pet birds act strangely and attack them and the temperature rises unnaturally. Jesse's girlfriend Lisa tries to help him but she could just be putting herself in danger. Things get bloody when a large group of teens, including Jesse and Lisa, gather at a party and Freddy emerges.I wasn't expecting too much from this film; Wes Craven is no longer directing and apart from Freddy Krueger we have an entirely new set of characters… thankfully it turns out that it wasn't bad at all. The fact that Freddy is trying to possess Jesse rather than just murdering teens in their dreams meant it wasn't just a rehash of the first film. The cast of relatively unknown actors does a decent enough job; most notable Mark Patton who is pretty good as Jesse and Kim Myers as Lisa. It takes a while before anybody is killed but that didn't matter too much as the tension was built nicely. Once the killing does start it isn't immediately obvious how it is happening as this victim seems to be being attacked by an invisible force. The special effects are pretty good. Overall I'd say this was a decent sequel; not as good as the first but still rather fun.

Jesse is my favorite character from all nightmares. I now this is movie about Freddie but I hate murderers and pedophiles. Actor who play him did great job. I now that this movie have double subplot and I think is great idea to mixed with nightmare story that's why this movie have deeper meaning and I love it for that more then others. Its the darkest from all nightmares and have creative script. Definitely its the best from all nightmares and I rating 10 from 10 stars in horror scale.

Released in 1985 and directed by Jack Sholder, "A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge" takes place five years after the original movie from the previous year. A family moves into Nancy's former house on Elm Street with the focus on teen Jesse (Mark Patton), as he attends a new school, develops relationships, including a girlfiend, Lisa (Kim Myer), and is increasingly possessed by the hellish specter, Freddy Krueger. Clu Gulager and Hope Lange play Jesse's parents while Robert Rusler plays his best friend. Marshall Bell is on hand as the gay gym teacher.Fans of the series tend to put down this first sequel, but I found it a perfectly fitting continuation of the story. We know from Part 3 that Nancy was off at college at this time so what's wrong with showing what's happening back on Elm Street with a new cast of characters? Myer is super-cute, even stunning in a young Meryl Streep kind of way while Patton is effective as the brooding, tormented Jesse. The long pool party sequence in the second half is a highlight and the idea of Freddy literally possessing a victim is unique to this installment. That said, they coulda done more with the female cast and there are some laughably cartoonish parts, like the bird episode. I also coulda done without the homosexual coach, but it happens. The film runs 87 minutes and was shot in the Los Angeles area, including Palmdale and Fontana.GRADE: B- (6.5/10) ***SPOILER ALERT*** (Don't read further if you haven't seen the movie) Jesse wasn't gay; it's a myth perpetuated by people who read that INTO the script.Right out of the gate the movie shows that Jesse's interested in Lisa, a babe, ultimately 'fessing up to his love for her; and it's mutual. Despite Jesse's torment from Freddy increasingly trying to possess him, he still can't resist getting on the floor with cutie Lisa to make out at the pool party; and only stops because of Freddy manifesting the monster tongue. Jesse understandably freaks out and escapes to Grady's house (who's grounded) and asks if he can stay the night while Grady keeps guard on him; he even warns him not to go to sleep because he might be possessed and do something evil, like murder. The only legitimately gay element of the movie was the aforementioned subplot about the homosexual gym teacher who hanged out at a S&M bar, which was revealed by Grady at the very beginning. Of course, the coach is nixed by the halfway point.
