Fantastic!
Excellent, smart action film.
A waste of 90 minutes of my life
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
View MoreI thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was cute, funny, and appropriately over-the-top acting for a modern comedy retelling of the Cinderella story. One of the reviews mentions that they don't like the portrayal of stepmothers and stepsisters and the inaccuracy of the fashion industry etc, etc. Well this being comedy, and a parallel of Cinderella I don't think it should receive less stars because it focused on the story and the simple characters versus trying to be accurate. It is a very enjoyable, lighthearted movie. And if one is looking for a deep plot, accurate portrayals of the fashion industry and design, with multi-dimensional characters, you should look elsewhere. This movie is not for you and you will agree with the other reviewer instead of enjoying a truly good movie.
View MoreI enjoyed this movie immensely! It took the "Cinderella-like" tale to a whole new Modern Day version that I very much enjoyed. The characters were relatable and hilarious, and I couldn't help laughing so hard during it. Portia, the actress playing the lead female, did a FANTASTIC job playing her parts! It wasn't too dorky that it was terrible and overdone; it had just enough silly humor that it was entertaining for me. The romantic parts were charming and "awwww!"-inducing that I couldn't help but melt inside. So adorable! It's a GREAT movie to watch and laugh out loud with the entire family!! You won't regret it! :D
View MoreStarting watch will realize that there is not quite a fairy tale: a successful mix of "Cinderella" and "Twelfth Night." Main heroine Kate Kassell (Portia Doubleday) disguises a guy and gets in his father's firm, staffed by an evil stepmother with her stepsisters minded. By the way, even the handsome Prince is available Daniel (Marc-André Grondin) and shoe "Cinderella" and luxurious ball. In general, all as expected in the world of fairy tales. Is that a typical plot happy end stories diluted qualitative humor and new images of characters.Cute and kindness ... but most of you will not say, because from the beginning you know what to expect from "After the Ball". Leave this film for those times when you just want to sit back, relax and watch something light and unobtrusive ... this fairy tale with a happy ending.Beautiful people: Chris Noth (more known in Russia as Mike Logan from "Law and Order"), Mimi Kuzyk, Lauren Holly, Carlo Rota, David Michael, and many many others.I just fell in love Marc-André Grondin. His amorous glance is not possible to forget. Thanks to all who made and starred in this film! I recommend see it to everybody! Please take the sincerest and warm regards from Russia and Russian people. Kissing you all!
View MoreHonestly, After the Ball was difficult to watch. It was so unrealistic and silly - to the extent of being juvenile - that it was difficult to be engaged in the movie. And I am accustomed to watching a lot of TV movies and lower my standards appropriately. Its problems are simple, one-note characters a ridiculous plot with characters acting in completely unrealistic waysno chemistry between the romantic leadsdialogue that sounds as if it was written by childrenan insulting depiction of the fashion industryan insulting depiction of parents (clueless) and step-parents (so evil and malicious that they nonsensically behave in ways that hurt themselves)This is fit for young children. However, if you're an adult, consider surfing the other channels. I'm sure you'll find something that deserves your time more than this. I mean, Really.
