Really Surprised!
Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??
Disappointment for a huge fan!
Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
View MoreAt this point, I've seen all of the available ALL NIGHT LONG films - and can only really recommend parts 2(ATROCITY) and 3(THE FINAL CHAPTER). INITIAL O is pretty dull, punctuated by a few decent moments - the only reason that I give it anything above a completely mediocre rating. My copy is in Japanese with no subs/dubs, so my synopsis may be flawed...A woman becomes sexually aroused after seeing a suicide victim's brain splattered in front of her. She meets some Rico Suave' guy who takes her on a date, drugs her, and puts her in a cage. They do A LOT of talking, and then there's some decent violence at the end...WAY too talky for this sort of film - I was hoping for a gore-fest and got more of a snooze-fest. There are a few scenes worth seeing peppered throughout the film, and especially at the end - but honestly, I wouldn't suggest anyone going out of their way to track this one down...6/10
View MoreWhen a young woman witnesses a suicide she is so overwhelmed with sexual excitement that she masturbates, unaware that she is being observed by a strange man.Later he invites her home where she is wined and dined.Soon she wakes up to find herself locked in a cage.Of course their twisted and sadomasochistic relationship will end in a sadistically explicit bloodbath...The version of "All Night Long 5" I have is in Japanese, but the above synopsis is general gist.I'm a big fan of Katsuya Matsumura and I absolutely love the first three "All Night Long" movies."All Night Long R" is also pretty good whilst still being deeply disturbing.Unfortunately "Initial O" is too long and sometimes dull,so I was a little bit disappointed.Still there is plenty of sex and some unsettling sexual torture on display. There is not enough gore, but some scenes(for example throat slashing or castration)are particularly nasty."All Night Long O" looks more like extremely dark drama/romance with surprisingly nasty edge than horror film, but if you're a fan of Japanese horror give it a look.7 out of 10.
