Not even bad in a good way

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

A decent movie made during the collapse of the Soviet Union. The film deals with a girl nicknamed "Avariya" ("Crash" in English) who is anti-social and doesn't get a long with her parents. I was surprised that the movie showed the teenage generation of the late 80's in Russia as metal heads and punks, I believe it was overstated and some what unrealistic. It's quite a nostalgic movie for anyone who grew up in the former Soviet Union during the early 90's, especially due to the lack of street advertisement and because of all the cars are still Russian. The car chase near the end is particularly entertaining because it's so absurd, it's almost comedic as you see the tape sped up at some points to indicate speed, the finale is also hilariously unrealistic but I'll leave it at that. Despite some of the weaker points, I believe the movie is quite dramatic & shocking, the acting is quite good but the fight scenes are again ridiculously fake.
