The Worst Film Ever

Stoutor

It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

The acting in this show was terrible.the actors had the emotional range of a door knob.camera work was amateurish and i am surprised that this was supposed to be the last work of an established director from Thailand.anyway, i'm sorry to hear he just passed away, but his last effort should not have been like this.nonetheless, if you can't fall asleep, watch this.the plot was so predictable and simplistic. The leads were good looking but they acted like wooden dummies, just mumbling their lines monotonously.

A classic love tragedy story. Most people would have a feeling what the ending will be, but the real joy of watching this movie is listening to the beautiful poetic dialogues. You could almost close your eyes watching it and still be moved. This kind of novel is very difficult to translate to film since you have to provide visual clues to the audiences that must not be too obvious or too abstract. I think that the director (Cherd Songsri) did quite well using retro-style of film making. Sometimes the actors might seem insignificant compare to the dialogious storyline, but that might be the best way to translate such a beautiful writing to such a beautiful film.

Khang Lang Phap (Behind the painting) is a forever famous novel for Thais. Many of us start reading it since we were in high school. And because of that, so many people (including me) went to see this movie.I admit I was at first impressed and almost cried at the theater. But it was mainly because of the story which is almost translated exact word by word from the original novel. Well, the movie it self was good. But not that exceptional good like many people talking. The leading actress (Kirati) deserved compliments, the music was so beautiful, and there was a deliberate old fashion style of Thai film you can feel. However, there were many irritating flaws like the sound, the light, the continuing. etc. It made the movie look so amateur. The worst of all was the English subtitle (which I consider part of the movie). It was quite a big regret to see original emotionally poetry-liked Kirati's sentences were translated lamely and emotionlessly to English.Well, I give the original novel 10 out of 10. But for the movie, 8 is enough.
