If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
View MoreThis is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
View MoreI was browsing through Netflix and decided to give this film a spin. I am so glad I did! "Boy Meets Girl" is funny, poignant and heartfelt. The characters, particularly Ricky (Michelle Hendley), Robby(Michael Welch) and Francesca (Alexandra Turshenbrought) compellingly displayed the angst, conflict and ultimately courage, compassion and humanity of what it means to be loved and accepted for who you are even when the likelihood of the pain of rejection for not conforming to "traditional norms" could be the price that is paid. This is an uplifting and inspirational movie which handles some very profoundly charged themes in a warm, witty and upbeat manner with a cast that absolutely aced it with their performances. All this middle-aged traditional heterosexual married fella has to say is "Bravo, Well Done." And my Mrs. offered to share the Kleenex.
View MoreThis has got to be the most beautiful movie with a statement I've seen in a long time! It gives you a very good insight into a world which most of us don;t know: trans-gender and homosexuality. It's presented nicely, honestly and without frustration. I wish people could be more tolerant; then we would have a better world. So many people are scared of anything that is out of the ordinary, that they don't even try to find out more about the unknown. They stigmatize it just for being different and they don't want to hear anything about it. They're ears and minds are completely shut to any information. Too bad these people will never watch this kind of movie. It will still be the open and tolerant ones wanting to find out more about discrimination and taboo areas. Thank you to the entire film staff for creating this gem. You are all amazing!
View MoreMichelle Hendley is someone to watch for years to come. She has everything she needs at her disposal to be a fine actress. Michael Galante fills the screen with inevitability and tenderness. Both characters are treated tenderly, without being unrealistically squishy and phony. The directors and editors for this film made all the right choices, particularly in the more intimate scenes . . . my heart cried out for both characters.I didn't want to movie to end . . . good movies and good storytelling do that.I really like this movie!
View MoreNO spoilers aheadThis film offers inspiration, validation, encouragement, and permission to be ourselves, just as we are. I am a sixty-seven-year-old transsexual. I transitioned fifteen years ago, but after watching Boy Meets Girl, I realized that I still haven't given myself permission to completely embrace my new self. This wonderful movie made me realize I was still holding back out of fear of ridicule, rejection, and hatred. This film is a cure for that particular malady. You don't have to be young for it to work its magic. If you haven't seen this film, I highly recommend it. You don't have to be transgender to be moved by it, just a bit open-minded. It is a very sweet and honest love story. If you are in a position similar to mine - See This Movie! You won't regret it.A huge thank you to all involved in this gem.
