Wonderful character development!
Too many fans seem to be blown away
hyped garbage
The first must-see film of the year.
Really left me BLUEBALLED at the end there. So much tension and so little payoff. Only thing preventing me from giving it a 0/10 is the fact that I think Red/Blue are two of the most interesting characters I've seen in an animated film ever, and their motivations and personalities were complicated yet sensible. Now if only it lasted longer than two minutes to give us the full on sex scene it seemed to be building towards.
View Morenice. amusing. and full of stereotypes. many real seductive. the fight between macho and wise sides of man. the transformation of woman in the second part. and the humor. result - one of known stories who, in strange way, remains interesting. maybe for reflecting the reactions of many guys at the first date. and, maybe, only for the predictability of a story who reminds ours.
View More"Brain Divided" is an American 5-minute short film from 2013, so this one will have its 5th anniversary next year. Despite its minimal runtime, it was written by a pair of directors, but here it is certainly not a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth. This is the story of a first date and between a man and a woman in a restaurant and we see what goes on in the man's head during all times of the date and how his gentleman part and his macho part are trying to keep the perfect balance between arguing and collaborating. These parts are fairly funny I can't deny it. Sadly, what keeps me from giving this one a higher rating is that there were moments when the attempts at laugh-out-loud comedy went pretty wrong, namely the flute scene that was really the weakest moment of the film. The ending may have been a bit over-the-top happy and the kiss sure came surprising with how annoyed the woman felt right before that. Anyway, the animation is top-notch and the very final scene with the woman's head and the reference to family that annoys both little creatures in the man's head was extremely funny again. I personally think this really reminded me of "Inside Out" and I wonder if it inspired any of the filmmakers who worked on the latter. The little blue man in the head looks exactly like a male version of the chubby blue female character in the protagonist's head in "Inside Out". Massive parallel. To an extent almost where I could see this little film we have here being included on the "Inside Out" DVD. Anyway, I recommend the watch of these five minutes as I was well-entertained for the most part and honestly it has been a long time since I have seen a more gorgeous animated character than Scarlet. She sure deserves her own movie, maybe with Jon. Thumbs-up from me. Go check it out.
