Really Surprised!

MamaGravity

good back-story, and good acting

Doomtomylo

a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

I'am a fan of anthology films. Championy is the first sport anthology movie I've seen, as well as the first Russian anthology film. My review won't spoil what the 5 different stories are all about. This is a very polished film, where everything is where it's supposed to be and it's hard picking a huge flaw. 80% of the stories can be viewed separately and that 20% is still a near-excellent material. Each of the main characters gets some development. The actors do a fantastic job and at the end I wanted all of them to win. The supporting characters also give something to Championy, either it is some comic relief or likeness. The movie offers some nice cinematography and the races look realistic.A small flaw is that I felt like not enough attention is given to Svetlana and that girl she helps story (I forget the girl's name) or it's just that the director decided to be that way.Despite that Championy is an excellent film that's polished, intriguing and really fun to watch. Fans of anthology films will enjoy it. And for those who like the horror anthologies - there's some blood.
