I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It is a performances centric movie

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Not your typical horror movie, but it just gave me the creeps. If you're expecting a bloody or gory movie you will be disappointed. It is just a somewhat slow paced, but very good, indie movie. I found it to be very creepy at times and although not a blockbuster hit I think it's definitely worth a watch.

"Conjurer" is another incredibly dumb and insignificant horror flick of which the makers didn't know exactly what they wanted to achieve. That may sound quite harsh, but it's the truth. We all know know about movies dealing with witchcraft/ghost story elements, like ancient curses and possessed building, right? You probably also know about them pseudo-intelligent thrillers where they make us wonder whether all kinds of strange occurrences are happening for real or just inside the protagonist's mentally unstable mind, right? Well, with "Conjurer", writer/director Clint Hutchinson ambitiously attempts to combine the two together, but let me assure you that they don't mix! Quite the contrary, the end result is a senseless and completely irrational film that – on top of all this - also is boring, bloodless and bad! One year after the tragic and traumatizing loss of their unborn child, artsy photographer Shawn and his wife Helen move to a big old-fashioned countryside mansion. Shawn is reluctant to move, because he's a real city boy and he particularly doesn't like being financially dependent of his intrusive brother-in-law. There's a ramshackle cabin on their property, and according to the superstitious neighbors – naturally – it's possessed by the spirit of a witch named Hattie, and she wreaks havoc on everyone who even thinks of destroying the cabin. Shawn regularly spots Hattie and a whole lot of other strange things (like a very hostile crow) on the premises, but his family thinks he just looks for an excuse to leave again. Whilst writing down this little plot synopsis, I realized that I wrote nearly the exact same lines numerous of times before for other lousy horror flicks. In other words, "Conjurer" is clichéd and derivative and doesn't feature anything to distinguish itself from the rest. Relatively many of my fellow reviewers stated that the film is full of genuine scares and atmospheric tension, but I honestly think they are either related to one of the cast or crew members or they never watched a REAL horror movie before in their lives. "Conjurer" is scare-free and slow-paced and overall second-rate

This movie as been on my watch list for really long, The trailer dose make this movie, look a lot more creepy then it is. The movie start of well, with Couple,who Miscarry the Baby , it kindvszd at first , you felt really sorry for then. Then they move to the country side, to get a fresh start, For the first 20 minutes felt like this could be a good movie , some calm scenes in this movie, felt a little bland at times. Some of those scenes do drag here and there, I felt what was point of the wife in this movie, she barely in the movie, had no reason for her to be in the movie as most of the movie, Just show doing normal house work.While, Husband is started to be bit freaked out, by seeing thingthings. Some of the scare Scenes or the Jump scenes, were not scary at all, they tired to make it creepy, by keeping far from each other but think it failed, other scenes felt empty The whole movie was just about watch-able and ghd twist was decent, I had didn't see it coming at all but this dose leave some plots holes in the movie. ( I heard cast and crew were actually haunted on set, and those stories they told, were a lot creepy then this movie ) The acting from two main, lead were really were rrally bad in some scenes, as some scenes were almost un -watchable. 4 out of 10

It is only a matter of time before Mix will join the ranks of other talents at the annual Oscar Awards. He has a keen sense of what it takes to mesmerize the audience. In the short while I have seen your work, you continue to both surprise me and entertain me. The public needs to see his original work as we now see it, and I feel it is only a matter of time that you will be going on to even greater challenges, and being a very successful star. As he gains in stardom, more and more actors and actresses will want to be associated with him. What a thrill it will someday be, to hear the announcer speak those immortal words, "and the Academy Award goes to....... Richard Mix, first-time nominee; first-time winner." With the competition so fierce, Mix still has the ability to keep the movie-goer entertained.
