Best movie of this year hands down!
it is the rare 'crazy' movie that actually has something to say.
View MoreWhile it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
View MoreEasily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
View MoreI find it outstanding how passionate fans can make a better star wars film than big Hollywood directors from time to time. Lord knows this film has true heart and soul put into it. Lets keep it simpleAction: Fantastic, good choreography, solid acting, very well executed and honestly surprisingly damn good considering its a fan- film. Story: Darth Maul becoming a true sith. Its great. And I love how we finally see his true potential which was only depicted properly in the comics unlike Phantom Menace. Really happy to see him done justice. Effects: They are really good. Both in regard to visuals and sound. The lightsabers look great, believable, the sound design is awesome and the soundtrack fits quite well too. Actors and costumes: It works. Really damn well. Darth Maul looks terrifying and very very convincing. Costumes are great, the movie doesn't look cheap. One thing though. I was finding it hilarious how the jedi master with them looked like Pewdiepie. Didn't kill anything though because he was cool and the dialog with the terrified padawan was a really nice touch to portray the Jedi as more than just practice for Maul. Not to mention the small but cool character progression of the padawan when she decides to take a final stand against Maul although all odds were against her. Bottomline: I really love this film. I wish it was longer. I want more like this. Definitely the best Star Wars fan-film I've ever seen. Thank you to the actors, directors and writers for this. 8 out of 10. Fantastic fan-film. A must see for all Star Wars fans as well as Maul fans who hated Lucas not doing him justice in Phantom Menace. This is your film. Hope to see more like this.
View MoreThe amount of work that went into this fan film is amazing. Typically fan films have crappy picture, audio, and dialogue. Everything about this was professional. Even the CGI was good. The world would be a merrier place if every fan film was as good as this.I give this a 10, simply because, since it is a short film and is full of well coordinated cinematography and lightsaber dueling, there isn't anything to critique. It's perfect. We all wanted more screen time out of Darth Maul, and more action. It keeps within his character's savageness. This short film perfects this. Darth Maul taking on like 6 Jedi. It's a dream come true. Like, it's impossible not to like it. Go watch it on Youtube right now. Go, go! *makes shooing gesture with hand*
View MoreFirst of all, I am not the greatest Star Wars fan, but this film's rising popularity made me curious. "Darth Maul: Apprentice" is a 15-minute (without credits) short film that was released roughly 2 weeks ago and managed 6.5 million clicks on Youtube since then. Not bad at all. The director is Shawn Bu and do not be mislead by the name: This is a German production with English language though. It shows us Darth Maul's rise to power. There is no denying this is really very good for a fan film and not many of these come close to such a level. People who appreciate Star Wars more than I do may even have a great time watching this one. I had a good time. The actors in here, especially Mathis Landwehr, are all also quite experienced already, definitely also more than usual for a fan film. I recommend checking this one out. Thumbs up.
View MoreA German production with incredible choreography that concludes the training of one of the most awesome Star Wars Bad-Asses in Darth Maul! This short movie is packed with all the action you need when Darth Maul is sent to a planet by Palpatine where he faces a group of Jedi (incl. Jedi Masters, Knights and Apprentices), kills them off to conclude his training and be granted the title of Darth Maul.Although it's an independent production the effects are stunning and fitting. After just 4 days online this had already over 4 Million views on Youtube. Well deserved.
