Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

The acting in this movie is really good.

I really enjoyed this film! It was full of color, culture, and life! The acting was great and the dialog was fun. I really like how the film deals with the conflicting Muslim and Jewish faiths. I learned a lot about their history and why they have such conflicts. It was a wonderful story about love overcoming multiple obstacles. A Romeo and Juliet story in modern day New York! I liked that the film didn't use any big name actors. I feel like films of this nature really lose their message or their purpose when the roles are filled by people like Angelina Jolie or Edward Norton. These characters seemed so real to me because they weren't some big names in playing parts. There were a lot of stereotypes present in the film, but I think they helped to add to the tension and the discomfort between the two faiths. But David and Layla prove that Judaism and Islam can come together in peace and unity. Their relationship is complicated and beautiful. The best part about this film, though, is that it is a true story. A real story about familial love and true love. It made me happy, and I think it will make others happy too! Everyone should go see it!

A group of us went to see this movie. All of us in some way or another have great appreciation for independent movies because we all understand the challenges involved, which makes the movie that much more special. We had a diverse group, we had Iranians, Jews, Kurds, Americans, Italians, and Greeks and everyone found scenes that resonated with them. We had a wonderful conversation after the movie about politics, love, stereotypes, religions, family, immigration, weapons of mass destruction, and the evil things that can and are done in the name of religion and politics. How we can be against biological weapons and yet sell them, how we can be against dictators, but support them, how we can be against each other and yet at the core be the same. The movie over an over tried to present us with the reality that we all are the same and we all have contributed to where we are today! The movie touched on all these points and yet manages to tackle hard issues with comedy to take the audience through a spectrum of emotions.

There are many wonderful moments in the movie, however, what stands out is the movie's ability to tell the truth. I applaud Jonroy and the cast for working hard to remind us that there is more that unites us than divides us. This movie touches myriad of topics that are extremely relevant to what's going on in the world today. The movie takes you through the spectrum of emotion from laughter to tears and at the same time you walk away from the movie feeling that you've learned more than you may have known when you walked into the theater. Just like any other art each person will have his/her interpretation, but the beauty of the movie is that there is so much to talk about after the movie. I highly recommend this movie because I'm a big fan of comedy, romance, and the truth!

I have seen the film at London Kurdish Festival and as I noticed some men criticised it because it shows the fact that the women is not different from man expressing her feeling, drinking, dancing and choosing her partner( why Kurdish boys can get married to others whereas women can not). Men all over the world should realise that the woman is human being , she has feeling same like men , she can involve in politic like him. In general, the film was a new drama in mixing cultures, giving woman freedom to decide her own life. I shouldn't forget the music which was great. The only thing i was searching for in the film was the Kurdish language which was absent in the family conversations. Congratulations for Mr Jay.
