In the world's most dangerous prison, a new game is born: Death Race. The rules of this adrenaline-fueled blood sport are simple, drive or die. When repentant convict Carl Lucas discovers there's a price on his head, his only hope is to survive a twisted race against an army of hardened criminals and tricked-out cars.

disgusting, overrated, pointless

A Disappointing Continuation

Glucedee

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

Explores the origins of the first "Frankenstein" car driver, Carl "Luke" Lucas, who died in a race at the beginning of the first film. Death Race 2 replaces Jason Statham with Luke Goss best known for his work in Blade II and Hellboy 2 and he is quite fun to watch he is no Statham but he is doing his part quite good. The movie has some pretty good explosions, fight sequences and a lot of great car chases which surprises me a lot when it's a film straight to DVD and it actually looks pretty good. Although it's kinda slow until it reaches the 'Death Race' part it's still quite interesting and you really get into the story as a whole. You have Machete, a girl that looks like Megan Fox and Martha Wayne what else could you possibly want at this point? And it's definitely better than the ridiculous 1975 and 2017 films but not as good as the 2008 remake.

This movie is one hell of a ride from the beginning when we meet our main character to the end where he becomes Frankenstein, to the gorgeous navigator to the Savagery of the Death Match to the birth of this new type of combat from Goldstein and Lists (who I thought for longer than I should of thought his name was lisps) this movie sets up everything you want if you want more of the murder and deadly Death Race while setting up the legend that is Frankenstein which in the 3 movie is compounded on the legend, and the cruel but honest and fair business man of Weyland. And all of it compounding on Luke his family tiring to kill him the other drivers trying to kill him and the crazy host trying to make a quick buck off of him.

DEATH RACE 2 is a surprisingly entertaining little straight-to-video sequel to the Jason Statham starrer, itself a remake of a Roger Corman cult classic of the 1970s. I'd even go so far as to say this is as much fun as the first film, although it has only a fraction of the budget and only one returning cast member, as far as I can tell. For DEATH RACE 2 captives the vibrant, adrenaline-fuelled spirit of the first film and Dutch director Roel Reine, himself a veteran of a dozen B-movies, proves to be a better director than Paul W. S. Anderson. To be sure, this is far from a great film and it falls down particularly in regard to the actors, all of whom are ill-serviced by their parts. Luke Goss is nothing more than a dome-headed dunderhead, an obvious stand-in for Statham but one that lacks that actor's trademark intensity and scowl. Lauren Cohan fares little better as an overly-obvious arrogant journalist type, while Danny Trejo has virtually nothing to do in the stock role of car mechanic. The two big names present in the cast, Sean Bean and Ving Rhames, are particularly wasted, given roles which require them to sit around and do absolutely nothing else. Each has about five minutes screen time tops.Still, the screenplay is packed with violent incident, which is always good, and I like the way the smaller budget is disguised by having combatant vs. combatant fights early on instead of car chases. There's only one real chase here, towards the end, which is pretty decent, although I could have done without the laborious twist in which it turns out that…well, you'll have to watch it for yourself to find out. Even with the many detractions, DEATH RACE 2 is a B-movie done right, with all of the high-octane action you could hope for.

The action scenes are about 0,5 seconds before each cut ... awful , epileptics will die watching this idiotic movie ...Maybe the director and producer think they made a really cool movie but the fact is it's complete rubbish ! I hope some day soon this way of making movies dies away and never returns and that people in the future will look back and laugh at these kind of movies.A piece of advice to the director and producers, buy a centrifuge, fill it with colored junk, let it rotate like crazy and then film it ... that movie will be even more cool than this ... Cool = faster, faster, FASTER FAAASTER!!!!!
