Sorry, this movie sucks
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
View MoreI enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
View MoreTrue to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
View MoreAlthough there was obviously not much in the way of budget for this film, and the acting isn't exactly the best, it's not a bad thriller. The desert surroundings are stunning and you really feel the isolation and desperation of the characters as the action heats up. If you can look past the predictability of the plot and just take it at face value, it's a surprisingly decent, little movie. Fortunately, the director doesn't try and make it too 'Arty', just sticking to clean, fresh shots which works very well and helps the overall flow of the picture. Once you get into the plot it keeps the viewer constantly entertained and surprised, even though the climatic final scenes are a bit of a let down. I've certainly seen a lot worse.
View MoreLochlyn Munro was pretty good as Billy Rich, the main character, but the rest of these goofballs should be back bagging groceries by tomorrow--they were really horrible actors. Movie was obviously made on a shoestring budget--no location at all except the desert and a restroom inside a nightclub, but still, the cinematography was pretty good. I honestly have no idea how I made it through the entire movie, but to be honest, it's still got 8:12 to go and nothing at all could save it in the last 8 minutes. And again, to be honest, I didn't watch it straight through--I took a few breaks and paused it to do a little housework, cooking, web- surfing, etc. So now it's finally over--the ending is really, really ridiculous. SO melodramatic and goofy. You've got to wonder what they were thinking when they made this thing.
View MoreThere are better ways to pass 90 minutes, this movie was made on one weeks wages by someone who flips burgers while smiling.Well done for making a movie about 4 strangers spending a day in the desert.Make sure you have plenty of alcohol as watching people drinking champagne in the desert will urge you to have a tipple even if you a reformed alcoholic lol.The ovie bas been made a few times before and maybe it was OK back in the day of Miami Vice which had a budget of 1 million per episode so its difficult in 2015 to have any interest a movie like this due to the fact that it was made really cheap like so cheap if you knew you would not watch it.Ihave to write ten lines so look me up on forsook and add me as a friend so i can recommend some great Irish movies like the field instead of the desert, almost at ten lines which is a fantastic feeling as i can now get another beer from the fridge and enjoy the ending which i did not spoil.
View Morea stupid ending. that's what this film has. a real stupid ending. we've seen this too many times before. a group of people get stuck out in the desert unprepared and un expectedly. how will the survive? who will survive? will they survive? there is not much here to hold your interest except for the two female leads. Katrina Law is a pretty hot number and so is her friend Victoria Pratt. they should hold your interest if you have testosterone in your blood. this film is cheaply made and looks like it had a budget of $100 total. how much could it cost to cast no name actors and film them in the desert for a day? it tries to be a character study on how people turn on each other in bad situations but it fails on that note. if you trust my review then you will save yourself 90 minutes of your life and avoid it.
