Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

I do not demand "closure" with every film that I watch, but this thing is ridiculous.I don't like sitting through 90 minutes of a tedious flick, then being left with nothing. Yes, the director tossed a tiny "bone." The "government" knows wha's going on. Black car, etc.Just don't waste my time. And don't populate your entire film with a bunch of stupid white people.Zack Ward is an annoying actor, and apparently friends with the director, who WROTE the role for him?? Really? The screenplay is terrible. One of the streaming sites has a "trailer," which totally ruins the film - if it CAN be ruined. There is nothing genius, nor coy, about constructing a narrative, that has no conclusion. NOTE: Unless that outlying cabin has a HUGE boiler, the water would not continue to be "steaming hot," even minutes later. If animals disappear, you'd still hear noise. They show clouds moving - so WIND?? And since when do people drive to a remote destination, with no gas? Did they assume that the "lodge" has a gas pump? (And, OF COURSE, "antiquated" pumps.) . PLEASE.Seriously, there is no point to this film. It's a total mess.

DON'T BLINK is a semi-decent cabin-in-the-woods horror flick about a group of buddies who go for a weekend break only to find the log cabin hotel they're staying in mysteriously deserted. The film plays out very much as a feature-length version of a TWILIGHT ZONE or OUTER LIMITS story, as the characters react in different ways to their predicament and some of them go predictably over the edge. It's generally watchable enough, evoking a good sense of mystery, even if the characters remain unlikeable and the script descends into sweary repetitiveness towards the climax. The non-ending is a bit of a cheat, too (don't go looking for answers as you won't find any).

The biggest load of TRASH I have ever seen. I can't believe this didn't go straight to some obscure TV channel that no one watches. Whoever produced and directed this film needs a career change!! The film was consistently poor. No substance, rhythm or reason. However, the first five minutes showed a very slight flicker of potential and possibilities of suspense, tension and twists. Sadly, my anticipation died a violent death in the sixth minute. I decided to continue watching solely because I was a guest at my Aunts house and I did not want to be antisocial. No amount of her home made Sherry make it any easier to watch just a little less painful....

While not sure as to how to truly "label" this film... it's definitely a worth watching movie. The characters are varied and balance out with each other. I don't want to give it away so I will write what I was thinking as I watched it. This is the type of movie I personally think is best to see without reading the promo. Watch it that way and you will understand why. At first it seems TOO peaceful, ... and yes it is... at first. It doesn't take long however for the viewer (and characters) to realize something's amiss. The bully kid from "A Christmas Story" is all grown up and plays a major role in the film as is also Mena Suvari. All in all a good watch. Keep the lights off for maximum enjoyment.
