As someone who recently graduated high school, this movie really hit home for me. i'm literally watching it two days after graduating. the characters were over-the-top but still relatable. i really related with lucy hale's character wanting everything to stay the same and really fearing the future and just not knowing what you're doing. the drug usage added comedy to the mix and really made for a good movie. don't listen to the reviews telling you not to watch this, if you need a high school movie that's actually relatable, watch it and if you don't like it, just turn it off :)

Besides the lack of a plot or story, there wasn't much character development. I almost turned it off half way through - and should have. But stuck with it and ended up thinking it was quite pointless. None of the characters are likeable. No laughs in any of the scenes. Just smoking, drugs, alcohol, and being upset. Thumbs down on NFLX. 2 Stars here because I am feeling charitable. Bleh.

This movie didn't really make sense to me. It was going in too many different directions and i felt like the same things could happen even if the brother and love interest didn't die in the beginning. It was pretty pointless. It wasn't horrible but it needed a bit more. when thats said it was actually an okay cast with some well known people in it, like Lucy Hale, Austin Butler and Alex Wolff. So if you dont expect too much from a movie then you could probably like this one.

'DUDE': Three Stars (Out of Five)A comedy-drama about a group of teenage girlfriends, that are all having trouble preparing for life after high school. It was written and directed by debut feature filmmaker Olivia Milch, and it stars Lucy Hale, Kathryn Prescott, Alexandra Shipp, Awkwafina, Alex Wolff and Nora Dunn. It was released by Netflix through it's streaming site, and I found it to be very mildly interesting and amusing. Four teenage girlfriends are preparing for prom, and life after high school. The brother of one of the girl's also recently died, and this has been hard for them to take as well. Especially Lily (Hale), who felt like she was in love with him. The girls all try to deal with other/new relationshipstoo, while also entering into this new stage of young adulthood. The movie is well acted, and seemingly true to life (at least some what). It also seems kind of pointless in the end though, and uneventful. I'm sure there is a point to it all, at least in the writer/director's mind, but it wasn't conveyed well to me. Still, it has it's moments, with inspiring scenes of young friendship and determination too.
