The greatest movie ever made..!
Disturbing yet enthralling
The first must-see film of the year.
It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
View MoreWell before I start, I must say this movie is about 90% drama (in regards to the genre)... if you're looking to watch a comedy, this isn't the movie for you too watch - it's a relationship-drama, which is exactly what I expected going into the movie (reading the message boards, seems like a lot of people were thinking "comedy movie", although one guy cracked me up a few times). So basically you have a group of friends from college who all kinda drifted apart throughout the years... you know, they ain't talk much to each other, hang out, etc. One of there friends ends up dying in some freak accident, so everyone in the circle is called up for the funeral service (and everyone goes). At the funeral service, to be honest I dunno what this occupation is called but... the girl who handles the persons wills... she has a voice recording of the victim, and on the recording he explains how he made a large sum of money and everyone is going to get some of the will, but there is one condition - no one can leave the house-area for 5 days. If someone does, no one gets no money. So the whole fading group of friends is stuck in the house for 5 days.So beyond the set-up to the story, it's just general relationship problems (that includes both friendships and significant others) that occur among the people in this movie... so if you like that kinda stuff, then you might enjoy this movie. I gave this movie a 7 to 8 stars out of 10 simply because I enjoyed the movie... it wasn't super deep or touching... but it was fairly interesting. If you go into this movie expecting some hilarious comedy, then you won't make it too the end, simple as that. But if you go in looking for a relationship-drama... then this should be worth while.
View MoreLook we've all seen cheesy movies. This could be worse. At least it employed some Black folks. I think movies have one of three types.Hollywood Happy Ending, Shakespeare Tragedy, or WTF? (trying to make you think, but about what is always the issue)I would have had the ending where their time together caused them to help each other. The ending this story has was not as plausible. And even though my way you would have seen an hour into the movie at least it would have been more believable.Good Luck. Medea's family it ain't. Favorite line: "not gonna happen dot com." said by my favorite character too.
View MoreI watched this film with my mother and I have to say we enjoyed it. Finally, a movie about young black people with good careers and good actors. We liked the plot of the movie. I feel like it had a nice flow to it and the characters were developed well enough. The movie was very entertaining. The only thing that I didn't like about the movie was the choice of words the characters used. Sometimes when arguments ignited in the movie the curse words flowed excessively. During those scenes I feel like the f bomb could have been left out. If you don't care to hear the words mf'ers and the f bomb just mute the angry scenes and enjoy the rest of the movie;)
View MoreWonderful acting with a great story line. The directing was ON Point, and the film was written very well.I laughed as well as cried cried. Keith Robinson's vocals are on point. The music video is lovely and the song is catchy and addictive. The all-star cast never misses a beat. The acting was so good, I watched it three times just to make sure I hadn't missed anything or any lines. Makes me wonder why some of these wonderful actors aren't blowing up like they deserve.I hope there is going to be a sequel. This is one I must have for my library, especially if Mr. Grant makes Dysfunctional Friends part 2. Looking forward to seeing more Corey Grant productions. However, Mr. Grant is going to have stay on top of his game, because this film was very entertaining. I am going to recommend it to my friends and family.
