What makes it different from others?
Don't Believe the Hype
The movie runs out of plot and jokes well before the end of a two-hour running time, long for a light comedy.
View MoreThe tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
View More(Disclaimer: This is my first movie review!) After watching this movie, I must say that I was humbly impressed. What seemed like a childish premise turned out to be pretty damn well executed. Plot: Your standard South Indian-revenge story, but the direction is excellent. The second half of this movie is far more riveting and involved than the first half. If the first half could have been tighter and more fluid (Nani's performance is mostly wasted), then I'd say that this was a perfectly executed film. The gradual degradation of Sudeep's character is portrayed well without many wavering distractions/diversions. Overall : 7/10Acting: Sudeep is excellent. Handles himself with grit, emotion, and vigorous fury throughout the film. Samantha is strictly average. Nothing outstanding about her performance, but she doesn't mess up anywhere. Nani is wasted. His pathetic attempts to woe Samantha are straight up funny and very clichéd. The rest of the supporting cast is strictly average. Overall: 6/10Music: Average. Nothing more, nothing less. 5/10Cinematography/Special Effects: Outstanding in my opinion. The CGI is really impressive, and it is especially cool to observe the fly getting its upgrades with the micro scale goggles and protection. Overall: 9/10From these brief evaluations, I'd give this movie a 7/10. Don't discard the initial incredulity this movie possesses. Watch it, you won't be very disappointed.
View MoreHonestly speaking I watched this movie after watching Baahubali.I was looking for Rajamouli's profile and this was rightfully highly rated. Based on the two movies, One can say that Rajamouli doesn't believe in subtlety, his ideas are bold and execution very much in your face. It might make a new viewer a bit apprehensive about watching the movie based on the trailer because lets face it graphics might not be bad but not great either and some scenes look as if they are from a kid cartoon show nevertheless be prepared to be amused once you start watching the movie. It is a very well acted movie and doesn't loose grip over viewer throughout the movie. It has tender moments, comic moments, action, romance, occult, sacrifice and the list of emotions keeps going on. Very few movies have the capability of engaging both the kids and adults, thankfully it is one of them.
View MoreThis is a truly astounding and humbling experience. Astounding because this blows apart all the expectations which the viewer may have before he sees it. The casual viewer will approach this with a very high degree of skepticism. A person who is killed by a gangster and is reborn as a fly to seek revenge. The story reeks of ridiculousness. However 10 minutes into it and you know you are in for the ride of your life. The ingenuity shown by the eponymous character in pursuing vengeance and the director in creating the scenes is breath taking. The scenes are created so perfectly. The confrontations between Eega(House fly in English) and the construction magnate villain (played superbly by Sudeep) are full of fun and will have you teetering on the edge of your seat. The CGI is world class and the watchers of the regular Indian fare will be totally delighted and amazed. The story is first rate. It is truly a pity that revolutionary movies like this are not sent for Oscar. This would have certainly raised the prestige of Indian cinema. This is an experience of a lifetime. Never believed i would be so moved by an Indian regional flick. 4.5 out of 5 for this lovable fly. Truly made my day. Very highly recommended.
View MoreWorth watching this movie. You can't take your eyes out of the screen until it finished.Amazing script, beautiful direction, splendid animation and off course wonderful acting by the Hero of this movie (Fly).People who have watched "Teri Meherbaniyan" where a dog took revenge of his master's(Jackie Shroff) death, may try relating this story since in "Eega" a fly (Hindi: Makkhi) also taking revenge. But I would say one thing here that both stories are totally different (because in Eega: Villain killed a person and the person reborn as a fly and taking revenge of his own violent death) and has their own way of representation."Aare aare aare" song is enchanting and memorizing.Animation at its best! I would rate 9/10.
