Summer 1969 on the Mediterranean coast. Paul and Vincent are childhood buddies. On a beach one day, they meet Alice and her friend Eve. After a series of memorable adventures, couples fall into place but not quite in the right order. Alice blossoms elsewhere, Paul marries Eve and Vincent weds Marie. The 70s are in full swing. Thanks to the pill, women's lives change radically, sexology is in, feminists's voices can be heard loud and clear but unrestricted and free access to abortion has yet to be attained. Against the backtop of a decade marked by sexual liberation, these three girls and two boys will cross each other's paths, love one another, split up and reunite.

Better Late Then Never

A lot of fun.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It's funny and a bit unusual but three of the stars of this movie have already worked together in the movie named in my title.Regarding this one, it could be a biopic about my parents and the time they conceived me, because it happens in France in the 70's. From my point of view, it was a great time then: the clothes were full of colors and society was boiling with talks about freedom and revolution. The other trend of this time is the so-called sexual liberty that gives the title to the movie: it was a time when old locks on sex were broken and it was before AIDS. Compared to another french movie also with Geraldine where protagonists are also swingers ("Je pense à vous" ),I think this one is much better because the couples are naive, idealist and lost. Finally, with their experiences bad or good, they gain maturity. As always, Geraldine is the delicate rose but the movie is also an opportunity to see a good Roschdy Zem and our a clone of Penelope, Marie Vialle as Juliette.
