One of the worst movies I've ever seen

Skunkyrate

Gripping story with well-crafted characters

Robert Joyner

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

Epic Java is a beautiful presentation of Javanese landscape. Using time-lapse and slow motion footages, Embara Films successfully captured the vastness of Java, ranging from the beaches and mountains into the cities and Javanese culture.Embara Films is an independent team, funded from personal savings and Indonesian crowdfunding site Wujudkan. As their first major feature, there are several technical drawbacks of Epic Java that might affect your experience. Several footages are not in the best resolution for big screen (the team said that earlier footage was originally intended only for Youtube). Also, the audio could use an extra mastering treatment to further enhance the dynamics. All in all, as a person who loves to travel, I enjoyed the Epic Java a lot. Even if you're not into traveling, I would still recommend it for its aesthetics.

Featuring the major mystical landscape and culture of Java. Recommended for you who loves travel and adventure. Epic Java can be your alternatives of reference. A documentary presented with astonishing time lapse and slow motion footage with epic background music. As non profit movie, the limitation push the filmmaker too far with their equipment. The result Low res footage shown at some scene. It quite disappointing. However as the uncommon genre released at the country Epic Java did set a high standard, not only for the footage but also the background music. Which both are the main element of non narrative movie. It surely become the main reference for the other filmmaker for the same genre.

Breathtaking beautiful awesome Indonesian film documentary that captures the spirit, life, passion, mystery and nature landscape with unforgettable moments of Java Island, Indonesia. The limited budget would not be any barrier to produce top excellent short movie. The time lapse and slow motion footage as a result of long hours indulgence to capture the Almighty blessing and grace. By watching this film, we will be seduced to take each step of mysterious journeys and be part of it like you travel to the destination and experience the most awesome moments. The only regret is the short duration like we want more to watch next shocking captures. Must see it and get thrilled!! I can't wait to see the next episode of Epic Sumatra, Epic Kalimantan, Epic Sulawesi, Epic Timor, Epic Irian or even Epic Indonesia! Good job guys and bravo!
