The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

So maybe they should keep these glorified home movies in their own video cabinets and not torture the rest of the world with them. I stumbled onto this mess by complete accident and decided to watch it because I like Brinke Stevens. Well, it's the absolute worst thing I've ever laid my eyes on (and I watch a lot of B-movies myself) - Pathetic minimal 'plot', poorly made, excruciatingly boring, endlessly padded out with anything to stretch the running time to a measly 50-some minutes, AWFUL acting... I could go on and on. This video just does not merit any kind of deep analysis. All I can say is DO NOT waste your time or money on it.I feel compelled to add just one more thing... I cannot believe one of the actresses who starred in this atrocity actually had the gaul to get on here and criticize someone for not liking HER movie. Well sorry about your luck, sister. Come back to reality. People are entitled to their own opinion. I happen to fully agree with him that everything about 'Expendable' is terrible, including your abysmal performance. Brinke Stevens certainly deserves better material than this. You do not.

For many years I have been a fan of films created by small, independent production companies. Films of such type waffle between the truly stupid and the amazingly entertaining, depending on the care given to production and the ability of the director to implement his vision of the finished product. The film Expendable, written and directed by Mark Baranowski, takes a simple premise, executes it well, and is as entertaining as any I have seen. Ryli Morgan exudes a cute freshness reminiscent of an early Playboy model. Brinke Stevens, of course, is as magnificent as ever. However, I was totally captivated by the presence of the lovely newcomer Rachelle Williams. Ms Williams brings to Expendable a sultry, incredibly resistance melting, sexuality. For one, I would not dream of defending myself against her toothy attack. Expendable demonstrates that a small independent production company, with a competent director and an excellent cast, can create a film that is fun, sexy and enjoyable.

As far as low-budget cinema is concerned, it doesn't get much better than the efforts of director Mark Baranowski ... what bfan83 doesn't realize is: he's never had a career reviewing films, and he's probably used to worthless grade Z flicks and haphazard screenwriting. And I agree ... if you just take a look at what is currently offered in this genre, you'll see - it's not much - just the usual mundane fare and the overexposed Misty Mundae ... Except for 'Expendable' and a few others among its ilk - Give me a director like Baranowski and a cast like Morgan and Stevens anyday. That's what independent filmmaking is all about ...

I bought this movie at the Shockfest 2003 convention, because I'm a huge fan of Brinke Stevens. But even she couldn't save this movie. The sound was bad, the acting actrocious, and the longest running nude and lesbians scenes I've ever seen. If you're a fan of Brinke, then get this, but If you aren't stay far away.
