View MoreWe move one year further in the story of the Fantom Kiler. When two cops discover a girl tied naked in a truck they knew for sure, the killer is back. From there we go into the movie which looks more low budget then the first one. The sound is of course back Polish but it's dubbed this time. I mean, it's full of Polish actors but they dubbed in their voice after wards. The first scene we do have a lot of talking going on between a hooker and a cop. The hooker is a witness of a killing and the cop decide that a police officer should become a whore too. That's already a whole difference from the original Fantom Kiler. It's also easy to spot it's all done in a studio. Even the scene's in the woods. The score used is the same as in part one. But it's way more boring then part 1. The waiting for the kiler involves a lot of talking between the cop and the infiltrated cop. Naturally when the killer arrives she strips all the way. But from then on it's extremely slow. Even the close-up of masturbation is rather boring. And guess what, wrong car so we do have a hot pursuit. No this isn't what I expected after the first part.Again a lot of editing effects and special editing but the story itself it's so tame and doesn't make sense at all, just see the pursuit. the talking, too long, the electrocution of a hooker, too long. In fact this could be a 30 minute short it would be a lot better. But I guess the director would like to show us the use of editing in stead....Gore 0/5 Nudity 3/5 Effects 0/5 Story 1/5 Comedy 0/5
View MoreAgainst popular opinion - I really dug the first FANTOM KILER joint. I thought that it was stylish, sexy, sleazy, misogynistic, and funny - and that's a hard combo to pull together successfully - but I feel that it pulled it off pretty damn well. FK2 is decent, but lacks a good bit of the "charm" of the first film. The "style" is still there, but this entry tries to take itself a little too seriously while still delivering the sleaze - and it doesn't work as well...As with my copy of the first FK joint - this one also had no English subs/dubs - but the "plot" was easier to follow this time around. The cops are still on the hunt for the Fantom Kiler - so they enlist a female officer (the same girl that got the wooden spoon up the bung in the last film...) to go undercover as a hooker to lure FK in. As you can probably guess - this turns out all wrong...I applaud the director for trying to come up with a more "solid" storyline this time around - but honestly, it's not needed. I'd prefer to see this franchise go back to the gratuitous crotch shots and vag-stabbing of the first film (not that there's NONE in this entry - just not enough). There's still some decent explicit nude scenes, but they don't come as fast and furious as the first film. The splatter scenes are a little better done, but this is an aspect that I'd like to see improved too. But regardless - FK2 still has more hot nekkid chicks and sleazy violence than the majority of films out there - with a nice cooch-sawing, and a jumper-cable-nipple-torture scenario (among others) that still make this one decent. Worth checking out if you liked the first FK film, just don't expect it to be quite as good. Here's hopin' that FK3 takes it back to the "roots"...7.5/10
View MoreLet's start off with the idea that you are going to see some good acting, great sets, awesome special effects or other virtues of a serious film. You're not, and you knew it as soon as you saw the box this movie came in, so let's not pretend.Anyone who watched this past the credits knew exactly what it was about - there went your right to criticize it for the bad acting. Anyone who watched it to the end lost the right to criticize it for the lack of plot, special effects or great sets; after the first five minutes you know without the slightest shred of a doubt that you're not going to see those things. If you watched it to the end, then you liked it. Peddle your guilt elsewhere. The whole Fantom Kiler series is an excuse to show good looking women in states of nudity and erotic distress. I would have to say the distress is erotic because how many women would writhe fetchingly on the hood of a car while a knife-wielding murderer poses menacingly over them? I myself wouldn't do it. Unless, of course, the murderer was a hot, naked Polish chick like those in the movie, oiled up and so forth. Then I might be persuaded to writhe a little bit.So let's enumerate the qualities that make this film good for it's intended audience, the things you should expect from a movie in this genre.Nudity? Yep, lots of it. Not as much as Fantom Kiler 1, but definitely enough to put it solidly in the "watch this for the naked girls if nothing else" category.Bad acting? Sure enough. Nobody is even trying very hard to act, and that's as it should be. Who pays any attention to the acting when there are hot, naked Polish chicks tied to ladders? If you are attempting to critique the acting at that point, only a good bludgeoning will straighten you out.Humor? It's OK. Again, not as much as in Fantom Kiler 1. Perhaps the director's stash ran a little low and he wasn't feeling as witty this time around. The situations themselves are humorous, though, if you are capable of seeing it.Attractive girls in distress? Oh, yeah. Plenty of it, too. Not that the distress is real, or can even be construed to be real. The girls are just too smilingly provocative about their distress. They enjoy it so much and so often that you want to share it with them a little. Most of the girls from Fantom Kiler 1 are here, reprising much the same roles, in much the same "I walk around oiled up, in skimpy clothes, and will take them off at the slightest excuse" manner. I respect them for their dedication to taking off their clothes. They will remove clothing for the most insubstantial reason, a quality I admire greatly. When they aren't naked, they are in outfits so skimpy their very existence is a tribute to the female form.In conclusion, I salute Trevor Barley/Roman Nowicki for his ability to get hot girls to squirm around naked on the hoods of cars. The man is an unacknowledged genius and should receive some kind of award for his groundbreaking work in the field.
View MoreFilm fans have struggled long and hard to try and make a case for Jess Franco Dario Argento Jose Laraz et al as misunderstood genii, struggling in the lower depths of cinema crafting unrecognized and unsung masterpieces . Trevor Barley has blown the gaff with his 'Fantom Kiler' series showing that the only important quality that any of these giallos-euro shockers have for their fans is the visceral thrill of seeing attractive and generally naked women sliced and diced . TB has opted for the graphic approach eschewing the atmosphere plot suspense and other attempts at providing entertainment employed by his role models. Given the apparent budget I'm sure he has made some money from his efforts, hopefully enough to pay his legal fees if the worthies from the Office of Trading Standards or the Police notice him and enquire why he has not submitted his films to the British Film and Video Classification procedures required by all films distributed in the UK.
