A husband is on trial for the attempted murder of his wife, in what is seemingly an open/shut case for the ambitious district attorney trying to put him away. However, there are surprises for both around every corner, and, as a suspenseful game of cat-and-mouse is played out, each must manipulate and outwit the other.

It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Fracture is one of those movies that you see once and feel cheated. There's something all too contrived, too farfetched, and too convoluted about the proceedings - pun intended - so much so that you can almost see the cast suffocating under the sheer weight of it all. Countless other movies have done more with less.

I just saw this movie tonight, The acting was outstanding. Rosamind Pike is beautiful. Some parts of the plot were absolutely brilliant. Other parts, not so much.First, you are led to believe that double jeopardy applied to "attempted murder" and attempted murder only. Since the wife was taken off life support, Willy said the charge is now murder and the double jeopardy doesn't apply. The problem here is twofold. First, if there was a living will, the husband legally executed his duty. Second, with or without a living will, it was the doctors and hospital staff that did the plug pulling not the husband. The double jeopardy still applied. The second mistake is huge and seemingly overlooked. Nunnaly had the shells swapped by his friend in the evidence room before he taped the bogus gun to a lawn mower blade the night before the trial reconvened.Willy said he had the bullet from the head of the wife after she died.. Guess what? Since the shells were switched. that shell wouldn't match in a ballistic test. And even further, the shells in the evidence room won't match the bullet from the Nunnaly suicide. Those bullets will only match the gun taped to the lawn mower blade.

Iv'e heard of this movie before but have never watched it until today, i saw it while i was browsing through the free section of amazon prime video and thought i'd check it out. Fracture is a well-acted movie, it has a clever story line, however some scenarios are a bit far-fetched (example, the cop arresting the suspect just happens to be the guy who is sleeping with the suspect's wife) the first 17 minutes are very suspenseful, the rest of the movie is also suspenseful up until the near ending which is still suspenseful but also predictable, the directing and writing for the end scene is disappointing, we see everything unravel for an hour and fifty something minutes which all builds up to a basic "you decide", these type of endings where they let the viewers decide the outcome is annoying, they're back in court with a new trial and we the viewers have no idea if the suspect will get sent to prison or not, with movies like this it would be better with a simple outcome.

You don't have to be a criminal defense lawyer to conclude that this movie was totally ridiculous. Just look at one item--We're supposed to believe that the rich guy is some kind of special genius. But look what he did. He risked a 30 year prison sentence on his assumption that when the police came to his house after he killed his wife that the only hostage negotiator that might come to his door was the guy who had been screwing his wife. What if Joe Blow showed up instead? This is L.A., likely with up to ten other guys who might have handled negotiations. Did the rich guy skip considering that the cop he wanted might have been working another case? LOL. He would have been unable to switch the guns as this movie showed because Joe Blow might not own a Glock. Does a "genius" take "all in" risks like that? No.There is not much point in going over the many other nonsense things about this movie. I just thought I'd mention the above.
