Let me clear some things up. If there is a killer in a film and Eric Roberts is in it, it is not a mystery who the killer could be. If there is a bad guy and Malcolm McDowell is it.... Type casting has ruined many films. The film opens with Jane Porter (Sarah Butler) practicing kick boxing with her boyfriend (Jayson Blair). He doesn't like her billionaire boss Thaddeus Gault because he is played by McDowell. Jane goes to work and discovers that VP Michael Willbourne jumped off the roof. His office was quickly cleared out and 9 minutes into the film as Gault is making a speech, I had the whole film figured out, and most of you will too. What can I say. You know that kick boxing thing works it way back into the script and if you read the title and look at the box you know this is about our heroine being cornered in an elevator. Not many characters and the ones they had were not overly entertaining. I personally liked Stig Svendsen 2011 "Elevator" more.Guide: No sex or nudity. No swearing that I recall.

I admit, I only picked this up for Sarah Butler, seen her in a few horrors and met her in the flesh. And she's doing here what she does best. Being the victim. It's easy to spot that this is a low budget flick because there are almost no effects and the script is rather simple. You can see it all coming and to be honest there are no surprises to catch in this predictable thriller. It's also sad to see ow deep Malcolm McDowell has fallen. He's the blockbuster in this flick but he's only for 10 minutes in it. I won't go into the story. It's so simple and cheesy sometimes that this is your no-brainer. I enjoyed it but I do understand that the day after watching it most of the people will forgot this flick. Sad to see also that Sarah after her excellent performance in the I Spit On Your Grave remake is only being typecast. Just hope it's no free fall for her career. If you are into low budget action thrillers then you will enjoy this but if you want to think about whodunit or what's going on, leave this for what it is. Gore 0/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 2/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5

A free fall can be fun ... for a second or two (depending on the fall). This doesn't really have that impact though (sorry for the puns, but they are laying right there for the picking ...). If the movie just had a couple of jokes like that, it might be a bit lighter. Not to mention the cliché excuse of a story.DB Sweeney and in part Sarah Butler do hold their own weight though. But being stuck (literally and metaphorically) does not help most of the time. You also wonder, if it's that important, why not put real effort behind it? But that would have ended the movie prematurely of course. There's not really much in here that will surprise you ... it might feel a bit "nicer" to some than to others of course

Both the writing and the acting are poor. It moves too slowly. Watch "Not Safe for Work" instead.Though the cast contains some medium-sized actors (McDowell, Sweeney), the writing is likely weighing down the project. The elevator angle slowed down the movie in my opinion. A chase through the building would have kept the tension high as it does in Not Safe. The female protagonist does not convince that there is an impending doom, and the antagonist seems to fumble and bumble more than the money one assumes was spent on his services would imply. I honestly had to take a break from watching half-way through due to lack of interest.
