best movie i've ever seen.

If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

Whoa, a few misses away from being a near gem. The best way to go into this film is to know absolutely nothing about it, like I did. The film starts off as one thing, then becomes a slightly different but immensely better thing - but then goes overboard and throws the film into eye rolling terrain. But whatever, still an enjoyable experience.

When I first saw reviews for Frequencies, I was thinking that the high praise and comparisons to Primer would only lead to my disappointment. Indeed, I would not compare it to Primer as it has zero time travel (although the story is told from different perspectives, this is more like Vantage Point than like any time- travel movie). It is driven by a few main characters, and slowly explains the setting, in a gentle, engrossing manner. Due to this, it is best to watch this when you won't be distracted, like at home with friends who like to be challenged or gently stimulated by movies, rather than distracted by fast-paced actions or shaky camera work. In other words, it is an elite movie, for the elites of armchair general society, and not for the temporary couch potato who has no mental energy to invest in a movie. That is all I will say because to say more might be to spoil it.Not only did I enjoy it, but I rate it a perfect 10/10, very very enjoyable, re-watchable, and has some concepts worth considering.

...Captivated me from the roll of the apple; and kept me to the end. Some hyperbole and some guff on these reviews - a '1' being spectacularly unwarranted (Witness that particular reviewers '10s'...Big Hero 6, Batman etc) This is 'one of those' - a delightful multi-faceted gem that should be enjoyed.Christians review "Most Intelligent Philosophical Sci-Fi I Have Seen This Millennium" says it all, so I'm not repeating it ;)Of particular note is the cast; no one (to me at least) famous, that is to say, no one that came with any expectations - but all captivating and a joy to behold.

...but you have not to "understand".Many dialogs are just for fun. The things they write down when they are "studying" an antidote for the Manual are meaningless, just as OXV. The central idea is great: spoken words do modify reality. And this is true. For instance if I say: "My sister has a breast cancer", people around me say "Oh, please don't even name it!". Here, in Italy, this superstition is largely diffused. They are afraid that saying the word, a bit of the real thing could damage them.Think of magic formulas and let's ask the reason why "bad words" are bad. Another great theme is destiny. The way they tell the love story of the two kids is more unique than rare! The part I loved more was the "experiments" of the girl and her "notes" she wrote down since she was a child :)The cinematography is amazing, acting was pretty fine and script was outstanding.9/10
