The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

An ironic take on the origins of humanity, filled with humor. An entertaining visual metamorphosis starting from the Big bang to every stage of biological evolution from the earliest forms of marine life, to dinosaurs, mammals and dogs to the eventual creation of Homo sapiens, all springing fort from a shirt collar. I truly love this film. The first time I saw it I was taken aback by the beauty of the 3000 illustrations in the film, which were all achieved in India ink and a Windsor Newton series 7 brush! Well timed, excellent use of the frame, with stunning drawings, Claude Cloutier is truly a master illustrator. A must have for all film animation enthusiasts.
