It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
View MoreA lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
View MoreIt is both painfully honest and laugh-out-loud funny at the same time.
View MoreOne of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
View MoreFROZEN IMPACT is a typically cheesy TV disaster movie in which a small town is assailed by a violent hailstorm that brings death and destruction to its inhabitants. The story is complicated by the efforts to save the life of an ailing child who is in desperate need of a liver transplant. Said liver is being transplanted in a small plane which is brought down by the hail, so those involved have only a few hours to transfer it to the new owner. This is cheesy stuff indeed, always emphasising overwrought family emotion in place of suspense or tension. The hail scenes are generally a mixed bag although some rather poor CGI stands out, not only in the storm scenes but for plane flights and crashes and the like. As usual the running time is padded out by lots of extraneous material, here involving the offspring of the protagonist who decides to go rock climbing during a storm and has to subsequently be rescued. Stacy Keach is the only recognisable participant and he does make an effort here, bless him, although his performance is wasted in a generally below par film.
View MoreWell, if you have nothing yo do... you can rent this movie and watch it for fun. This movie is one of those movies that we heard in jokes, it's so bad that in the end is funny. The "special effects" are not what they called, the story is too predictable and the actors... well, you may see it. I saw this movie in video club, I rented and my first thought was: "oh, this must be a special edition in DVD of an old movie" and then you check the box of it and it says that this movie was made in 2003. If you see the clothes, cars and the TERRIBLE (in both senses) snow that seems more like spheres made of paper; you think that if I were the director I'd prefer to do no movie, instead of make this thing. But after all, I must admit it, I have a lot of fun watching it, I suggest that the genre Comedy appears on this screen.
View MoreThere are a few positive elements to mention here... Nicole Paggi is completely hot. Nicole Paggi and Myles Jeffrey play brother and sister, and in real life they look alike enough to make playing brother and sister seem fairly realistic. Last, the older actors do a very good job with what they have to work with.Unfortunately, there are many negative aspects to mention. Very poor production values -- the special effects and the hospital ER/operating room sets were very weak. The editing was poor. At times there is a lack of continuity between cuts.Myles Jeffrey can't act yet, and his eye movements during times when other actors are feeding him lines are distracting. There is a Georgia accent, a Long Island accent, a Left Coast accent... but no Vermont accents. The story and plot come with more holes than Swiss cheese. Annoyingly, each of the many brief periods of hail falling is paired with a character spontaneously confessing some deep dark secret to whoever is near. Hail attack / confession, hail attack / confession, repeat five or six times, etc. Watch this expecting it to be a small town high school play production, and you might not seem all that bad.
View MoreWow! What a Great Movie!!!! I caught Frozen Impact on PAX TV and I must say that movie was great!!! As TV movies go you could not get much better. Great action scenes and a great cast. Loved Stacy Keach!! Tons of cool action sceans and very beautiful Vermont Scenes. Film probably had a 2 million budget but it looked like maybe closer to 20 million so great use of $ proving that cheap movies with a great cast and story can rock!!!!
