How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.
View Morea film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
View MoreThe first must-see film of the year.
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
View MoreFUGUE is another slow and dull indie haunted house movie. It involves the usual maladjusted young woman moving into a haunted home where she discovers some unpleasantness going on. Are ghosts responsible? You'll neither know nor care in the hands of a director who doesn't know how to craft an interesting tale. The emphasis is on atmosphere building but it's all very mannered and predictable.
View MoreWhile I enjoyed some of the film, overall it felt disjointed. Abigail Culwell did an excellent job portraying a vulnerable yet determined heroine. Director Barbara Stepansky also did an excellent job as the film had an eerie feel to it as if anything could happen at any moment. Problem was in most cases it never did.Spoiler alert:there is one great scene ( as shown in trailer ) , where a heavily pregnant Abigail is being pursued up an incline by her assailant, I was hoping this confrontation was the climax of the film, instead it's not, instead it's a flashback just being remembered, it was over with far too quickly, and when the real climax comes for the now not heavily pregnant heroine, it felt totally so out of place with how rest of the film came across..So my biggest complaint was the storyline itself, was too slow in most areas, missed opportunity in others, and en ending that was way out of place...
