Through flashbacks, Full English Breakfast follows the violent career of Dave Bishop (Dave Courtney) a small-time London villain who kills his way to the top of Britain's drugs empire. Now happily 'retired' on the Kent coast Dave becomes embroiled in a bloody battle of wits with Al Qaeda terrorists who want to take over his criminal empire. Adding to the old mobster's woes is his younger trophy wife (Lucy Drive) wanting to play away with his new driver (Jamie Bannerman).

An Exercise In Nonsense

Murphy Howard

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

Another disaster movie from the master of fantasy Dave Courtney. He was declared bankrupt in 2009 and with funding vanity projects like this it does not surprise me. or perhaps he is more clever than is given credit. he makes this film with a budget of £8.50 and tells the tax man that all the profits from his literary works of fiction are put into the film, when really they are hidden away in a shipping container with a Poundland padlock securing it, like Dave Bishop does in the film. this rubbish has a terrible narrative, wooden acting, unconvincing violence,no continuity (check out Bongs on Big Ben) and dubbed by 1970's spaghetti western sound men. If not made to intentionally loose money i believe this film was made to allow Courtney to carry on his fantasy life as nobody believes him in the real world anymore. Give it up Dave this is a crime against the art of film making.

I'm a huge fan of the Coen brothers and when i stumbled across this i thought to myself "oh my god how did i manage to miss the fact they were making a British gangster film" due to the fantastic script.Once i jumped on here I felt foolish as it wasn't Joel & Ethans work but that of an up and comer Manish Patel.Snappy scriptinventive camera work incredible acting from a host of first time actors. Mind Blowing twistGO SEE!!!

I love B movies. I love British gangster movies. I however do not love this. It is as if the actors have a robotic delay between lines. It is painful to watch. On the back of terrible acting and a cheesy plot, I did get sucked in. I wanted to know what was going to happen. A rather obvious plot from the start. There are worse movies out there. Before watching this, I had tried viewing Area 51. This is an actual step up to that. Dave Courtney is a rather interesting character and very well known among the British tabloids and public. I suggest you Google images of his home which is styled on a castle. Time for a public shaming in admitting that I have owned his books. He plays the part of a hard man very well as he looks the part. If he had better acting skills, he would be terrifying in a real high budget gangster movie.

I don't post film reviews normally but I felt I needed to come on here and give this plucky little fighter a leg up because it seems to get smeared and trolled by people that just don't get it.This is a wonderfully written story of love, revenge, and loyalty. It doesn't have a Hollywood budget or famous cast - save for the one and only Mr Dave Courtney OBE, a British institution and one of the most well recognised faces in modern underground British crime cinema - but it has talented direction, compelling performances, rocking great soundtrack and a lot of heart.I'm not going to go into detail about the plot and characters - they are yours to discover. But be sure that there's something in this little gem of a film for everyone: romance, violence, dramatic and engaging story (with lots of suspension and dread) and the most incredible twists. If you like crime flicks and you're a film connoisseur, not another mindless sheep like a lot of the juveniles trolling this page then you are not going to be disappointed with this superb little work of art.
