The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

I've been going to Paris for the thick end of twenty years specifically to gorge myself on French movies and for the very first time I have been faced with v.o. (version originale, i.e. English) everywhere I look. Where in an average year I would expect to see a good dozen new French offerings I was lucky to find three of which this was the most all-round entertaining. There's not a lot to it; Jose Garcia, taking his family on vacation attempts to beat the queues by setting the speedometer on his state-of-the-art dashboard at 130 kilometres per hour then sets off the wrong way. You can, if you put your mind to it, extract a reasonable amount of mileage from a premise like that and it does no harm at all if you have Andre Dussollier along for the ride.

I had the opportunity to get a speech from the filmmaker (I went to the preview in Lyon) who indicated that some scenes weren't shot with a green screen. Knowing well this highway I trust him but not so much about the real speed (what's absolutely understandable according to stunts these actors accepted to do) ! This is doubtless the funnier movie of Nicolas Benamou but he has the merit to put successfully some scenes where we didn't expect to see them and to made the whole audience laugh.I think my rate is not so high because some actors were not convincing enough and some clichés should have been enhanced further.N.B. : some scenes are a bit violent (a child less than 10 left during one of them) ... so please avoid him that if yours is likely to have nightmares.
