Baseshment

I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

A Brilliant Conflict

Ariella Broughton

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

the movie didn't make at the box office because most indians are used to junk movies like dabangg, rowdy rathore, chennai express etc. (overacting, poor story, illogical action, unnecessary songs, dance, and yeah happy ending of course this are the common things that people nowadays want to see in movies) since these things were missing in the movie therefore it didn't make at the box officeon the other hand Ghanchakkar has a different kind of comedy not usually seen in other movies and requires little maturity to understand the movie had a good suspense not a very great movie but yeah it is a good movie

I wasn't a GHANCHAKKAR to go for it. I was more of it…. May be GHANCHAKKARIER! May be two over before GHANCHAKKAR and top it up with few more after it, to really get a hang of it or over it! See I said it.I just kinda know the guys associated with it…. A movie or so, each…. (I might be lying) There's that VIDYA, EMRAAN AND UTVJI. So you see, my adding –JI- doesn't get any far in proving anything…. And that's exactly the point….. utv has been trying to metamorphose into Miramax (which anyway lost the sheen long ago). Its good and we are there to let it happen…… cause if you are audacious, you get a chance to show. This director has done it two times over, and GHANCHAKKAR was 3rd throw of dice! If the stuff would have been endorsed by Guy Ritchie (ya that Madonna of a British director), won't we had grabbed it and christened it a marvelous masterpiece (I m not pretending, we did that with lock-stock-2smo'kin barrel and snatch)… no offense to Guy, though at any point. Its just a wish…. The movie could have been more… meatier, more sumptuous…. You know what I mean…. It had all to go but then, it was stuck in its own grind. But look what we did to Johnnie GADDAR after all!All points to RAJ KUMAR GUPTA to pull this one, yanked it hard. It belongs to the millennial kids; all convention gets buried. No great performances but great handling of a non-existent script. So then, it doesn't qualify for a paid viewing, just good enough down-loadable.

watched GHANCHAKKAR ..there's no Comedy(they try hard but its still not there) & there's a no crime(they made it look pity) & as well as there's no Romance...also they (makers) haven't exploited the talented cast..cause their script, dialogue, screenplay all sucks(that's what refrain its actors from performing)....its below average from the start & ends little close to the average(cause of climax)....still I would say _SKIP THIS ONE_ (I was looking to this but its turns out to be a big disappointment. Complete waste of two hours) ________IMDB I LIKE TO KEEP MY REVIEWS SHORT, PLEASE DON'T FORCE TO WRITE LEASE TEN LINES________

Ten minutes into screenplay, you are annoyed with Vidya Balan's diction. Thirty minutes into screenplay, you are blown away by the script. Suspense mounts, and you want to finish the remaining 90 minutes in a flash. That is how Ghanchakkar gathers its viewers.Emraan Hashmi is great with his portrayal while Vidya Balan troubled me a little. Her demeanor looked over-smart. The supporting cast is average, most of the time trying & failing to make us laugh. But, the plot is enough to keep us hooked. It seems illogical at first and you may start guessing hell of a lot of ideas on what happened & what happens next, but the epiphany is truly enduring & clever. With a slow-paced second half, it makes us yawn for a while, but the climax will blow it off. The makers have meticulously written the play and that is why it is recommended. 6.5/10.Music & songs are average, editing is good & overall, quite a funny film which doesn't use large amounts of vulgarity.BOTTOM LINE: A comic experience that should be considered. Recommended! Can be watched with a typical Indian family? NOProfanity: Strong | Vulgarity/Sex: Mild | Nudity: No | Drugs/Smoking: No | Alcohol: Mild | Violence: Strong | Gore: Mediocre
