Absolutely the worst movie.

I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

Okay, I'll give GILGAMESH credit for being something other than a cheesy and predictable slasher, but this micro budget production is so awful and indescribable that it becomes virtually unwatchable after the first ten minutes or so. I appreciate the effort made to depict a snowbound Siberia in the film's opening sequences, but the plot then goes off on a tangent involving religion, politics, and various esoteric themes.Unfortunately as with all indie productions this all amounts to a whole bunch of actors doing very little other than having philosophical conversations. It's patience-testing stuff for sure and the continuing refusal to make sense or deal with concrete themes and ideas makes it a real chore to sit through. There's little incident, a nonsensical story, no realism, and awful acting throughout. I hated it, I'm afraid.

I don't like to base my reviews on a Films budget but when I watched this production I was pleasantly surprised. The Writer, Producer and Director Richard Chandler squeezed every penny. The film makes good use of local locations and talent. The story is well written and original. The plot flows well with the use flash backs and narration by Joseph Gannascoli(of the Sopranos). This was a creative way to save time on costly scenes. The story line is the usual good against evil but the characters do a wonderful job involving the audience with strong performances. It has something for everyone; supernatural, gore(a good body count) and brief nudity.Keeping in mind this is independent film on a micro budget I think you will enjoy the unique characters and plot. All and all a very interesting and entertaining film.(see trailer)

Gilgamesh, the latest product to come from the mind of Richard Chandler and his crew at Boston Film Family, is a refreshing change from the never ending crap that has been called Indie Film over the last few years. Jousha Davies and the lovely Melantha Blackthorne shine in this sci-fi thriller set in the not to distant future. Joseph Ganniscoli (the Sopranos) brings his years and talent to a small but powerful role and helps narrate the film. Oselito Joseph, stands tall, as the title character Gilgamesh. An ancient being that has come to help us in our darkest hours. He is pitted against Inanna(Emily Coleman), an ancient evil unwittingly set free from her ancient prison. Richard Chandler not only wrote, directed and produced the film, he also brings to life the character Lars. Chandler is as comfortable on screen as he is behind the scenes. Rounding off the cast are a plethora of local new england talent that make this film their own. All in all this film is a breakthrough for the BFF franchise. Their largest endeavor to date has proved to be their best work yet. Be on the lookout for more from this great lil group! I could only imagine what they could do with a real budget!

Very impressive job of independent filmmaking on a micro-budget. Imaginatively depicts the fall of the US government and the rise of an insane dictator in the near future, set against an eternal conflict between two supernatural and immortal beings - one sworn to destroy the human race, the other who may or may not be our protector. Has the character depth, texture and ambitions of a movie costing many, many, many times more money. Well-directed, well-written with flashes of black humor amid carnage, generally very well-acted, and quite well-photographed. Uses its limited budget to claustrophobic advantage in the same way that some of Roger Corman's early films did….A rather unique accomplishment that follows its own independent raison d'être - to give its audience a creative experience they'll never get from Hollywood.
