Absolutely amazing

Hadrina

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

Leonard Smalls: The Lone Biker of the Apocalypse

"Give Em The Boot" is the DVD brainchild of producer/pop punker Tim Armstrong, following up his cd compilations of the same name. We are treated to some amazing clips of live footage from bands like The US Bombs, Tiger Army, Nekromatix, The Bastards and F-Minus. Mixed in are a few too many Rancid 'anthems' which is a little unfair. It leaves a narcissistic taste in my mouth by the end because I think the Rancid songs that we are shown are their best while the songs we hear from the other bands are not. Just my opinion. The only other complaint I got is: what is with the black and white fake grainy footage? I wanna see color man! I paid for this nice ass TV so I can see things in color. Sadly, Tim, this ain't 1977. (Though I wish it still was...) You don't have to be black and white to be punk. I think the clips that are shown in color and are nicely produced and there's no shame in that these days. You're already making a 'punk' DVD, which is in itself an oxymoron, so you might as well make it as well-produced as that Bruce Springsteen Live in NYC DVD. What's it gonna hurt? Let's see and hear these awesome bands in all their color and glory.Lots of great performances, a MUST for any Rancid fan and a great introduction to one of the most prolific and groundbreaking modern punk rock record labels out there. These ain't your American Idol bands this is real rock n' roll the way it used to be.8 out of 10, kids.

Rancid was always a band I could take or leave until I saw this film. The Joe Strummer scenes will almost bring tears to your eyes.U.S.Bombs,Nekromantix and Nerve Agents all turn in some really great performances. The live footage of Lars and the Bastards alone is worth the price. Some viewers may be a little disappointed by the lack of behind the scenes footage, but after all the whole point of the Give'Em The Boot series is the music rather than the image of the bands.Hopefully the Give'Em the Boot V Compilation (due out in May '06)will inspire a sequel.A must have for any fan of Rancid,Tiger Army,or Nekromantix. Now go get it!

Real good DVD but whats with the B/W grainy effect? OK Armstrong we know your the 'Punk Dodge MTV Father' but i could produce those effects on me old ZX Spectrum, you hear me boy? Get crazy, watch me! The U.S. Bombs are why you should have this DVD, them and the Necromantics! Duane Peters is a real 101% madman! What i don't like is Captain punkdodge poser Lars Fruitson! Whats with that lad runnin round with the balaclava over his head? Round here we got loads'a lads doin that but they ain't in no crap pose punk band, i can tell yea! Take him and his dodge gang out'a this DVD and you really got somethin! More back stage would'a been nice and maybe less of the Transplants. Skinhead Rob, your a fool man, a fool! But you make me laugh! Funny boldy lad with a beard! Oh how i laugh!!!! PS - Don't forget to get crazy with the rich punks!

This DVD is amazing, the only downfall is lack of behind the scenes footage, but the live footage totally makes up for this, with so many amazing bands, rancid, tiger army, Lars & the bastards, nerve agents,f-minus, Joe Strummer and a very special live performance featuring both rancid and A.F.I on stage playing radio together. Although there are no extras the bands on this DVD make my favourite music DVD ever, i was much more excited however before i saw it due to it being called a documentary, i was hoping for interviews and such. Tim Armstrong i salute you. As Joe Strummer himself called you, you are a punk rock warlord.Essential viewing.
