I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

I am not a youngster, but I have become a fan of the TV show "Glee." I have always enjoyed music, singing, and dancing. In fact back in the 1960s I was in a 28-performance student musical at Purdue University. I can't return to those days but watching these kids brings back some of the joy we kids had all those years ago.So here we have, on DVD, the 2D version of the 3D Glee Concert. Held in a number of different cities, the presentation on DVD includes performances from different venues.Confession time, by far my favorite is Heather Morris as the sometimes ditzy Brittany. I like her for the character, but I like her even more for her dancing. She has an ideal physique and her dancing and stage movement are just wonderful to watch. The only thing I personally did NOT care for were the various interviews with fans inserted at various points in the program. I really don't care what young fans think of their favorites, or how "Glee" has influenced their lives. I understand some will like it, but not for me. I just wanted to see and hear the performances which, by the way, are accompanied by great surround sound. So for me this "Glee the Concert" was a pleasure.
View MoreI thought I was going to watch a glee concert in 3D but instead I saw parts of a concert with three back stories. I understand Glee has made a huge difference in the lives of many but this movie was really about the fans. Some of the fans were in the movie more than the characters were. Some of the best songs were not included. On the plus side, the Warbler's set was awesome and so was Rachel. Watching it in 3D made it feel like you were at the concert. The music was out of sync with the lip syncing and at times the music was too loud to hear the voices. Not worth the extra money to see. I wish I would have read reviews before I went because I would not have gone to see it.
View MoreI love Glee, I love Lea Michele, so the Glee movie was definitely put on my list of must see films. My partner and I have been having withdrawals since the end of season 2, so this was the perfect filler in for the time being. There's lots of things wrong with this movie, for starters it is much too short, I was devastated when it all if a sudden ended, secondly I thought the stories in between each song were unnecessary and boring, and finally the fact that not all the cast get a chance to sing a solo is also disappointing, but obviously the producers have to cater to a lot of fans and they try to give each cast member a little bit of screen time, I somehow have a feeling that Blaine and Britney are the favorites as they are the ones who get the most screen time, however disappointing this was it's all worth it when mighty Rachel Berry graces the screen, Lea Michele is a born performer and she knows how to give an audience what they pay for, her songs are by far the most well performed. It was also nice to see Dianna Agron on a big screen, out of the entire cast I think she is one of the only ones who will have a sustained career once the show finishes.I'm surprised that this movie is such a box office flop, considering what a juggernaut Glee is it's just plain weird to see it failing the way it is. I went to a 3pm session on a Monday at a very popular cinema in Sydney and me and my partner had the entire theatre to ourselves, not one other person was in the cinema. So we basically had our own private screening, we just got into it though,we had a bit of a sing and dance.Another thing I will point out is I think the use of 3d worked very well, this is probably the first movie I've seen where the 3d was good and not just blurry, and the surprise cameo by Gwyneth is excellent. So yeah, Just go with it, there's a lot if fun to be had if you just take it for what it is. Long Live Rachel Berry!!!!!!
View MoreBeing huge gleeks my partner and i couldn't wait to see this but wish we hadn't bothered. The 'movie', a term i use very lightly consists of some of our favourite characters singing and dancing a bit on stage and a good third of the 'movie' is spent listening to other fans comment about how Glee has changed their lives. There are no set changes, no real costume changes as such which combined with the filming of the other gleeks commenting about how the series changed their lives, THAT REALLY IS IT!!And for one last kick in the teeth there were no signs of Mr Schooster either! All in all a pretty boring 1hr 45mins of our lives we'll never get back and frankly if we weren't as big fans we are, this pathetic excuse for a 'movie / concert' would be enough to put you off the series!!A BIG let down and very disappointing!!!
