At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

Watched this movie on a plane. Was intrigued since I am Asian and grew up during the L.A. riots. This movie didn't quite do it for me. The pace was too slow. Dialogue was a lot of frustrated yelling and awkward silence. If the director's intent was to make you feel character's pain and struggles, I will give him that. Plot was predictable, and although the characters did a good job displaying their full emotions on screen, it was difficult to get attached to any of them. I wasn't a fan of the black and white either, which added to my impatience in wanting the movie to end.

Justin Chon amazing stuff man. David So amazing actor hope to see a lot more of you guys. Brilliant movie about a turbulent time, you have brought to light the Korean shop owner plight during that period. I don't understand the critics who are willing to drop below nine out of ten, possibly never watched the same film!! Well done arguably the best film of 2017.. thank you

Well the movie was about bringing out the raw emotions of the story without gimmick or compromise. The title says it all, one that most people would not dare to use to get a movie out. But this movie was not made to make money or impress but rater get a story out that would reach and touch people. The black and white was effective portraying more of the raw feelings. It was a compelling movie touch touch me and many others. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone.
