Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

Watched This Film This evening and decided it was a film I had not seen or heard of until discovered it sitting on a shelf. I wasn't sure at first when I saw and still not sure what I think of it now. My views of the film are good and bad firstly lets talk about the bad parts. Naming a film after a Pokemon may be a strange title and don't understand why it was given such a name across the whole film didn't feel the name made much sense. The film was very slow at the start and almost sent me asleep why watching this found some of the acting a little off and Abigail could have done better would have been a much better rule and better film if they had found a better actress sorry Abigail. The story reminded me of Groundhog day if it had been a horror film. However, there are some good parts was very impressed by some of the male roles who I feel put on a good feeling to the film as supporting cast members. Why I would say don't go out your way to watch this film. I feel it plays strongly on the creative areas another reason I gave it a 6 rating was the fact a few times it did make me jump this film had some good moments but failed and might have been better if they casted someone other than Abigail Breslan.

On the eve of her sixteenth birthday, a teenage girl finds that her reliving the same day over and over again makes for her preparation to fight a sadistic time-traveling serial killer that's targeting others like her and must race to stop him.For the most part this one here was quite the fun and original effort. Most of that works comes in the form of it's exceptionally creative and enjoyable premise, which is something that really relies on a seemingly new take on a rather familiar effort. The first half here is wholly appealing with the set-up of the day repeating over and over again for her and the different routines becoming the norm that once this one devolves into the haunting notions of a ghost possibly in the house the tension is quite readily ramped up considerably. The numerous instances of things going bump in the house where there's plenty of creeks and groans let out, the thrilling Ouija game where she contacts the other side and the different scenes in the fog-enshrouded outdoors where the house is completely covered here makes for a thrilling series of scenes that come into play quite nicely with that strong premise to make this quite dark and chilling once the endgame is firmly established here in introducing the time-traveling murderer and his connection to their family. Including the strong scenes of her searching down in the basement where she meets a victim being burned to death in a huge chamber or the terrorizing family dinner sequence that throws in some rather outrageous visuals into the fray in order to really set up the film's phenomenal second-half where it goes into the chase in stopping the killer's rampage. By including the different time-jumps and body-switching all throughout here as it generates quite a fun bit of action within these scenes, there's plenty of fun to enjoy here as this one goes about the twisted nature of showing her being tormented by his actions and going after the families only for the end to really get the supernatural comeuppance in quite a chilling manner. Though this one gets in plenty of fun with this unique concept, it's also somewhat flawed here in that the story, for all it's uniqueness and creativity, is unbelievably incoherent and nonsensical. Not only is it nearly impossible to figure out what time-period in history that we're in because it just seems to randomly jump to one in order to suit the upcoming shock-scare devised of having the killer right around the corner, that manages to tie into the film's main running theme of being so utterly incomplete with it's own internal logic that it really falters here in selling this effectively. Not only are the time- jumps completely glossed over in terms of how they're accomplished, but the fact that it's so confusing about how they're able to possess bodies and perform other activities as these people is quite a long and troubled series of scenes that are nowhere to be found, all making this one really hard to keep track of at times. Otherwise, there's a lot to really like here.Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence, Language, minor smoking and themes of child death.

Lisa is stuck living the same day over and over. Every day she does the same things, and her parents and brother say the same things, and they eat the same things. Every evening they watch the same episode of "Murder, She Wrote" When Lisa becomes aware that her life is repeating itself, things start to change. There are strange noises coming from the basement, her family, especially her father, alter their behaviour slightly, and a mysterious pale man visits their house and makes unsettling threats. Haunter is a highly effective Horror, Thriller, and Mystery. There is a perfect combination of all three genres in this overlooked gem. It's intelligent and makes the best of it's premise. I love how whenever Lisa discovers something new about her situation, more layers are added to the story. We, the audience, never truly realize what's going on until close to the end, and that uncertainty throughout keeps our interest high. It's a perfect example of what horror should be- creepy, mysterious, atmospheric, and, above all, engrossing. With elements similar to "Groundhog Day", "The Shining", and "The Sixth Sense", Haunter still manages to feel fresh. It's a real pity this film isn't more popular. It deserves to be seen by every fan of the genre.

In 1985, on the eve of her sixteenth birthday, Lisa (Abigail Breslin) discovers that she is stuck in time, living the same day over and over with her parents Bruce (Peter Outerbridge) and Carol (Michelle Nolden) and her little brother Robbie (Peter DaCunha). Soon she learns that they are dead and trapped on the day that they were murdered but she finds that she can contact other people. Out of the blue, a stranger (Stephen McHattie) comes to her house telling that he is going to fix the telephone line but indeed to threaten her to stop the contacts. Lisa finds that she is contacting victims of the killer in different timelines including the future, and the killer's name is Oscar. Will be possible to Lisa to stop the evil Oscar?"Haunter" is an intriguing ghost story with a promising idea of an evil spirit, but with a deceptive conclusion. The story is a combination of "The Others" with "Groundhog Day" and "The Twilight Zone", with good performance of Abigail Breslin. But the corny conclusion could be better. My vote is six.Title (Brazil): Not Available
