Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Her is a smart movie with great performances across the board, led by Phoenix who truly gives many layers to Theodore. Her asks difficult, large questions about love, similarly to Ex Machina and Black Mirror's Be Right Back. As much fun as it is to consider, I would argue it's more of a romance and a character study than a sci-fi film. The characters are all realistic and the cast is excellent, but the emotional attachment at the end with Theodore losing Samantha just didn't land for me. It felt that it was more Theodore trying to understand himself and using Samantha to help himself do that and feel positive than a true relationship. The film looks beautiful and the lighting contrasts were gorgeous from scene to scene, and I thought the script was very good, but the progression of events kept me from being really drawn in. I can understand why many love it and think it's a valuable film to watch, but not a unique experience for me emotionally.

Wow. What can I say about this film. A wonderful and true story with a impeccable performance from Joaquin Phoenix. Spike Jonze directs this film to every little detail. The story is wonderfully uplifting with its moments delving deep into the simple human need to be loved. Overall this is a sublime film, brilliantly written and directed. Must see.

I found the acting of Joaquin Phoenix phenomenally good, especially in the close up shots. The cinematography was brilliant and the backdrop of Shanghai was well chosen. A highly unusual concept which kept us both riveted to the screen.

This movie discusses aches of the heart in relationship , what true relationship is, and what true partner is. I loved the emotional performance of Joaquin Phoenix. It is a slow movie with enjoyable scenery and atmosphere. The artificial Intelligence (A.I.) once again employed to explore human emotions and social bonds in a new way.It is a soft social romantic/drama movie. It might won't impress all science fiction fans but it presents a kind of "realistic" path of what our technology today would lead to.
