Tied for the best movie I have ever seen
The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
View MoreEach character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

View MoreAnother cheap ghost story from the Philippines. This one's about a family who move into an old dark house and who are subsequently assailed by nightmares, weird visions, and spooky incidents. Inevitably it turns out the place is haunted. This is a film which features a mish mash of well-known plot elements including material taken from the likes of JU-ON: THE GRUDGE and even some slasher films. There's a lot of emoting and some high melodrama, but the scares are laughable (that bed set-piece is a joke) and the rest is a bore.
