This movie will always occupy a special place in my heart. Outstanding acting by Sean Penn and young Dakota Fanning. Michelle Pfeiffer's smile stole my heart on this one. Fantastic storyline and direction. And an even better soundtrack by Hans Zimmer to embellish the fine movie.

Short and Simple Review by WubsTheFadgerBy far the best aspect of this film is the acting. Sean Penn, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Dakota Fanning all do a fantastic job at portraying their respective characters. Laura Dern hands in a great performance. The story is quite simple and starts off strong but it loses some power as it continues on. The runtime is overly long. This is the films biggest downfall. If the film was about ten to fifteen minutes shorter, it would be a lot better. The ending, without spoiling anything, is satisfying but it could have been better if it had more of an emotional impact.Pros: Great acting, simple yet satisfying story, does have some emotional impactCons: Overly long runtime, story gets weak at the end, the ending is good but could have been betterOverall Rating: 7.0/10

I've watched quite a few dramatic movies. Im a sucker for anything that can make me really feel for the characters. And never before have I cried for 15 straight minutes during a movie. This film is so wonderfully done and flawlessly tells the story of Sam and his struggle to get his daughter Lucy back. To explain anything further would probably spoil the whole movie, its really just something you have to experience for yourself.

Sean Penn does a great job here. Very convincing and touching. You also get Michelle Pfeiffer and Dakota Fanning. What can possibly go wrong there? The performance of Sean Penn is outstanding. He plays a mentally disabled father who does all he can to stay with his daughter Lucy (Dakota Fanning). This movie has funny moments but is also sad and very deep. You cannot avoid but feel with the protagonists. If somebody asks me to recommend a movie, here we go. It even comes with Beatle songs. Give it a try"!Don't miss out on that wonderful masterpiece. It is quite long but you won't regret it. I run out of adjectives to describe the film. It left me speechless. And that is quite something for a woman.
