An Exercise In Nonsense

Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

"In Dreams" is a wonderful experimental film. While some folks might not like the story (it is very slight), it doesn't matter, as the film is really all about the wonderful graphics--which are a wonderful calling card for the filmmaker.The film consists of folks talking about recurring dreams that disturb them. However, as they talk, you can't help but notice that the folks in the story have heads that look like their fears in the dreams. One lady has a head like a giant set of novelty teeth, another has a tree for a head and there are others--all of which are quite strange! Again, this is a film you need to see. Don't think it through--just watch it and enjoy it for all its strangeness, creativity and charm.
