Perfectly adorable
Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
View MoreGreat example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

"Kommt Mausi raus?!" is a German movie from 1995, so to put it into perspective this one is almost 25 years old and was released 5 years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall. A lot of time has passed since then for sure. This 90-minute television film is the earliest filmmaking effort by Angelina Maccarone and it is certainly better than her other lesbian-themed early work, but that is not because this one here is anything special, but the other pretty bad to be honest. The cast includes almost nobody anymore who is somewhat known today with the exception of Lukas and Fitz and they have zero screen time really almost. As for the plot, the film scores through authenticity occasionally, but then there are again moments that feel rushed and staged like the ending. I believe that the lead actress and 2-3 other cast members were pretty decent, but the way things eventually turned out I did not enjoy the final product a lot. I kept wondering on several occasions if these characters are really interesting enough to have a film made about them. My answer is no. The character writing and development simply isn't good enough , which leads me to the conclusion that the only reason the film is not yet entirely forgotten is the subject of homosexuality that is always one that draws certain audiences to the screen. I personally don't think it is underseen or underrated. The bleakness is not the problem, the execution and script are and while there are some nice songs in here, they are not good enough to make up for the other general weaknesses. I give "Kommt Mausi raus?!" a thumbs-down and suggest you watch something else instead.
