Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.
Good concept, poorly executed.
It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
View MoreThe story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
View MoreEmraan Hashmi at his best.Nice movie.Nice acting by Hashmi.Nice direction by Kunal deshmukh.Nice and beautiful songs.Loved the songs all songs. The story is interesting of Hasmi as a bookie.Stuck in a triange of sorts between the woman he loves and his addiction to make a quick buck. Good editing.Awesome screenplay.Nicely produced by tbe Bhatts. The movie shows us that greed can kill.Just see this movie I believe you will like this.Emraan Hasmi should do more movies like this. But don't forget the end will make you cry.And the sequel also is awesome jannat 2.Overall you will like this movie for the brilliant performance by Emraan Hashmi and the story of this movie.
View MoreI always like Bhatt films for being very dark, for being more mature then Yash raj films But this film proved me that there tend to get too simplistic too There take a piping hot concept, about match fixing and then weave a ordinary story round it There don't do research about the match fixing and are as clueless about it as ours The promos promised that it would be the center stage but it actually gets such a backseat that it is forgettableI know a story is important, drama is important, romance is important But here sadly there give too much importance to a 80's type love story and rest takes a backseat even the main premiseThe initial reels seem to remind you of 80's and 90's films, reckless and roadside type heroes are no longer novel or cool Then the glass breaking scene is so stupid Then the mazaa starts when the focus shifts to the gambling but that too doesn't last for long The way the initial batting episodes are handled, it's good but then it gets too childish later-onThe drama at the interval point is good but sadly things get predictable in second half and the climax is so stupid and filmy it falls flatDirectorally, the film is okay for a first timer but the script seems baffled Music(Pritam) is good, ZARA SI and LAMBI JUDAI are goodEmraan seems to be getting more natural and cool with every film, he acts well and actually stands out in the film Sonal seems wooden and unintentionally hilarious in the climax Vishal seems typecast Samir Kocchar is excellent but his role is clichéd Javed Sheikh is amazing
View Morethe new movie from bhatt production house has been released to a great hype following the success of awarapan. Don't go to the movie expecting too much. Its just a time killer that will keep u busy till the end.A gambler turns into a cricket bookie finding that he has a sixth sense of guessing what will happen the next ball. But his urge to make quick money pushes him into match fixing and he looses control of his life and love. The ending is very dramatic which lends the punch at the end. i kind of liked it.Imran delivers a steady performance. He has done alright in similar roles in the past. the soundtrack and background score is good. Its a good way to kill time on an evening.
View MoreIf you haven't already seen this movie, it is probably a good idea to watch it first and decide for yourself IF it was Worth it.It is amazing to see how the story and characters in the film are detached from reality in almost every sense. The Morally Grey Dreamer (Emraan Hashmi) finds out he has a thing about cricket and people who play cricket, that is, he can tell what is going to happen in the game (named Sixth Sense) and he is a very good judge of players personality. Making him not just a talented Bookie but also a gifted Match Fixer. His Love interest is a Not-so-well-off but Morally Sound(Sonal Chauhan)who is also deeply in love with Emraan. Both characters are given troubled backgrounds, which is financial for Emraan and Emotional for Sonal. There was bound to be a conflict between these two love birds. And when it does happen it all goes down in a classic (read clichéd) bollywood ishtyle.Direction is good given the sort of Plot. Story lacks any real depth. Acting is convincing and pretty much compensates for the incompetent storyline. But if you overlook all these things... and don't fall for the emotional façade...you will find the ending quite witty (read Sexist)Enjoy
